Thoroughly enjoyed our time at My Beach Resort. We stayed for four nights in late July and the weather was great, much calmer sea than the west side of the peninsula at our previous hotel at Nai Harn. We booked a Premier Sea View Double Room with breakfast. Although our room was located toward the rear of the property and not particularly high up, the view was still fantastic and the balcony was big enough for two people to do yoga. The hotel is built on a hillside, so room locations are a bit unconventional. When booking, it’s worth looking carefully at the options—some of the first-floor pool access rooms don’t have a sea view, while others that do can feel less private, as the shared pool runs directly in front and other guests may be swimming or passing by. This isn’t necessarily a negative—some guests may enjoy the convenience—but it’s something to consider depending on your preferences. The resort offers a wide variety of room types, so it’s worth checking the layout before choosing. Our room was spacious and beautifully furnished with quality wooden furniture, a very comfortable bed, and a spacious walk-in shower. The oversized rain shower head was absolute bliss after a hot day. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout our stay. The hotel sits right on the beach, offering stunning views. However, during high tide the beach can disappear, and on some days there was quite a bit of rubbish washed ashore. The staff clean it up regularly, but it’s something to be aware of—especially if you’re planning to swim. Best to wait for calm, clear days. That said, the infinity pool by the beach is excellent and makes up for limited sea access. There’s also free water sports equipment available, including a canoe and a water bike, so you can still venture out.Breakfast was very good, with plenty of variety and fresh options. We also loved everything we ordered from the à la carte restaurant—the pizza, in particular, was excellent, as were the Thai curries. The café is another highlight, with a great selection of cakes and a creative coffee menu. All the food and drink we tried were top-notch. Prices are somewhat higher than nearby restaurants, but we felt it was worth it for the quality, convenience, service, and of course magnificent views! That said, there are several good dining spots just a short walk away if you prefer to explore.Walking along this stretch of beach, we passed a couple more restaurants, but My Beach Resort felt like the most lively and inviting property in the area. On the far side of the cove is Ao Yon Beach, which is beautiful, clean, and much more suitable for swimming. It’s easily walkable, giving you more beach options depending on the weather and tides. The gym is small but functional, with a view of the ocean and enough equipment for a basic workout—free weights, cardio machines, and some space to stretch.Lastly, the service throughout the resort was excellent. Staff were warm and attentive. We felt well looked after the whole time.Overall, very glad we chose to stay here and would...
Read moreWow, what an amazing find. The hotel is amazing, the staff are so helpful and the views from the hotel are spectacular!
We had a Delux Studio, and it was fantastic. The check-in process was really easy, and the staff were helpful and had us in our room by 1330 (1500 per the booking). We were really pleased with how fresh and clean the room was. The view was spectacular, so we decided to head down to the beach and enjoy a cocktail next to the sea. The happy hour cocktails are plentyful, the staff are amazing, and there are plenty of sunloungers on the beach and by the pool. The pools are clean, well maintained, and just deep enough to enjoy.
This is where there is a small drawback with the hotel. The room we booked was on the top floor, which meant 10 flights of stairs every time we wanted to go to the pool/beach or to breakfast. There is a buggy service which you can use. We didn't try it, but plenty of people were using this. A lift would have been useful for people who wanted to not use the buggy or stairs, but for us, it was just a minor inconvenience.
The beach is lovely, and the sand is soft, but I would recommend bringing beach shoes if you plan on going out into the water at low tide as it is quite rocky. Again, for us, this was not a major concern, but it could be.
The breakfast in the My Cafe was ok. There were a few "weatern" breakfast options, but mainly what I would consider lunch items. The omelette and egg bar were good.
Another slight issue is the location of the hotel, for the views and for the peacefulness the location is great, the downside being that there is not much choice for restaurants or bars. This is not an issue if you're only staying for 2-3 days like we did as its a nice relaxing way to end a long vacation, but if you were there for a longer vacation then it could make it an issue.
The hotel does run a shuttle bus to Central Mall every day, departing at 1200 and returning at 1600. This is a nice way to go and get some supplies.
Overall this hotel is fantastic, the staff can't do enough to help, the food is good and is a little more expensive than other places...
Read moreGiving 2 stars only because the view was amazing and the staff was polite (although not very helpful). Apart from that, the hotel is closer to 1 star. Definitely very far away from 5 stars! The biggest issue was the lack of cleanliness which looks like a recurring feedback from most of the reviews. Our room was absolutely disgusting where almost every part of the room was dirty and stained - from floor, to furniture, to ceiling. Attached photos depict the situation well (although they don’t include everything). Also there was a solid 5mm layer of dust on anything higher than 6 feet (top cupboards and light fixtures). We showed all of this to one of the maids asking to clean the room properly however nothing was done throughout our stay. All this filth created a very uneasy feeling and left us unrested in the mornings. The rest of the hotel seemed cleaner however some appliances were damaged and not maintained at all. Looks like certain broken things were being put together by unskilled staff instead of professional repairers which left an embarrassing image. Even our toilet lid was broken upon our arrival however the hotel staff managed to put it back together all within 10 minutes which was impressive and unexpected. The best maintained facility was the gym (if you can call it that) because it is the size of an average bathroom. It included a bench, some dumbbells and a few yoga mats - no other equipment! I assume it’s maintained well because nobody uses it. Furthermore as others have mentioned already the beach was small and the sea was shallow and rough. Oh and there is no lift! Everyone has to take multiple flights of stairs to get to the beach, pools or the restaurant. All these issues (and more) kept us away from using any of the hotel facilities, even the restaurant, so we ended up only using our room to stay the nights. Overall it looks like the hotel was built not long ago but unfortunately doesn’t feel new at all because of lack of proper...
