As a couple based in HK who has an annual tradition for resort-get aways, we are no stranger to Phuket resorts. Nonetheless, V Villas has stood out to be hands down the best resort we have ever stayed at.||||From the interior design to the plating of the dishes, V villa boasts a more modern and western aura that no other Phuket resorts can offer. When we look out of our room, we could see a full sea view of the beautiful coastline of Phuket, while whenever we switched our attention back to the interior of the room, it felt more like we were inside a high class hotel from Europe. The floor height of our room was quite high, which added a more spacious feeling to the room, and the whole layout of the room made the stay very comfortable because it was very practical. The living room area is great for dining while watching some TV, the closet area is spacious enough to fit all your clothes comfortably etc.||||The activities provided were all quite memorable. The yoga class we went to down was fun, the rooftop bar provided a stunning view with cocktails that we felt were on par with the very top lounges we could find in Hong Kong, while the most special activity is the cooking class - taught by the head chef Nong at the V Villa’s restaurant - who was trained under michelin chefs. No need to feel intimated even if you’re a beginner at cooking though, the chef is super friendly and warm, and the class is tailored to the level suitable even for beginners. ||||The most stand out feature about this Villa is in their staff. It is the small details behind the service that made all the difference, because this group of staff made us feel like the most important guests in the world. Our room has a designated butler, Boat, who not only is 24 hours on call, but is somehow always aware of where you might be in the hotel, and will show up from time to time, out of the blue, just to make sure your schedule for the rest of the day or the next day is fully sorted out. Based on such level of attentiveness to your daily schedule, whenever you’re out from doing an out-of-room activity, even if it is just to grab a drink from your bar, every single time you come back to your room you will realize the room has been remade. Minny, one of the server from the restaurant / bar knows our preferences well enough to be able to memorize our favourite seating area at the rooftop bar, and that my wife prefers sparkling water while I always go for stilled. Not to mention she is extremely skilled at taking photos. When we went for Yoga with the trainer Nom, it was raining hard and he made sure all the guests had an umbrella while walking back to our buggy, even though it made himself soaking wet. It also felt a bit overwhelming to have a Michelin trained chef to teach us noobs how to cook, not to mention they made special arrangements to store our cooked food at their restaurant’s fridge, just to reheat and then re-serve the unfinished portion to us during dinner time, as we couldn’t finish all of it in one seating when we first finished cooking all that food. Everyday we went for breakfast it felt like we were welcomed back to this well trained group of staff, with special props to Rome, Asma, MAMA, Dora, who never get tire of making sure you have tried every single unique feature from their breakfast buffet, such as the customized tea brewing service, as well as choosing your own fruits to make refreshing juices from.||||Taking into account all of the above, is this place worth the price premium to most other resorts in Phuket? I believe one’s joyful experience is difficult to put a price tag on. However, I’d just like to share this brief comment I made to my wife during our trip: “it is quite unfortunate that I got a cold throughout most of this trip. But then, this hotel is just so great that I’d pick this trip over any other resort-getaways we’ve had, even though I was not sick for all those...

All villas come with a pool, some with a better view than others. We had an ocean view villa and it does what it says on the tin. 100% worth it. Everything is exquisitely decorated, the rooms, the pool, the restaurant, the spa, the rooftop bar… it is a very stylish hotel, quite recent, only a couple of years old and it shows. A modern and unpretentious luxury. |The food was generally very good at the hotel with the added convenience of a breakfast served in room at no extra charge. The Italian side of the menu is more questionable though. And when it comes to breakfast, I’d have to add that the croissant, pain au chocolat are not dible (at least for fussy French men 😎), they are stuffy, heavy with no crisp crust… And their bread proposition is not exciting either. I guess it is a breakfast that will suit asian or anglo-saxon cultures better with a great selection of eggs dishes and interesting local specialties. Overall the quality of the breakfast is excellent and I must say their homemade jams/marmelade are just exceptional. |Your villa comes with a personal buttler you can reach out to on WhatsApp. Grace, ours was so attentive and helpful with splendid recommendations throughout the stay. We spent 6 nights in total in the hotel. |The villas themselves are extremely private despite being quite near to one another: no one can see your room or pool or the other way around. And at least for the first 3 days, it was incredibly quiet and relaxing. Up until a family with kids moved in the villa next door and what was once a paradise became hell for a couple of hours a day with uninterrupted yelling and diving from the children. Nor the parents or the hotel staff would do anything about it and our best option was to leave the hotel to go to the beach or a bar until it became quiet again. |I wish the hotel had an adult-only policy because for us, it was definitely a nuisance. We have 3 children ourselves so we know but when you travel as a couple and choose a romantic, exclusive hotel, you don’t necessarily want to bear this level of noise. If I am coming another time (and I would love to!) I would have to know that this is not going to happen again. But I don’t see how the hotel can guarantee it since at the end of our stay, most villas had children. |Another small disappointment is that the beach near the hotel is a public and rather ordinary one, not bad, not great. The hotel used to have a staircase to go down directly but since there is construction work right next door (that you can only hear it when you are at the maint restaurant or pool bar), the stairs have apparently been compromised and are not in use anymore. So the hotel staff kindly gives you a buggy ride to the beach upon request. |That said, the hotel asset is clearly its pool villas, its view and the beach is secondary. |A special mention to the spa, it is very serene (although when we stayed there they were renovating staff apartments beneath and it was very noisy). That said they managed to hold the construction work (more or less) for one hour when we did a session of Tibetan bells and this was truly a revelation, José the yogi master in charge is a very inspiring person 🙏🏻 |Voila! Overall we absolutely loved our stay at V Villas and we warmly...
