To Whom it concerns My name is Micheal I am from Ireland living in Tunisia, I just spent 4 days in your Hotel Blumar Resort & Spa. My first impressions was a great feeling of homely Hotel, I was greeted by Ayoub Amor the reception Manager. He introduced me and my wife to the Head Chef Faycel Both were very friendly and made us very welcome. During my 4 days at this Hotel the Chef Faycel was always checking on us to make sure we were looked after. He did this to all his guest so it was in his nature. Also I would to recommend your reception Manager Ayoub who was always dressed smart and he walked around the hotel checking up on any issues that came up very professional and was full of confidence in his Job always polite and helpful. He went out of his way to help both me and my wife were comfortable. All the staff were busy doing there jobs under the Leadership Of the Chef in the Restaurant of Faycel, and also Ayoub together they run a smooth Hotel. Now during my stay I watched the Entertainment Team work day and night to keep everyone happy, with sports and night Entertainment. (With what they had to work with) The Hotel was always clean and my room was always cleaned on a daily basis with the lady always smiling when we came into the room while she was making the bed up etc. In the restaurant I notice you do not have a Toasting Machine (the only Hotel without) I asked your Chef Faycel to try to get one this would stop the queues for Pancakes and will help smooth the Breakfast service. All the other sittings were very good. Our room was very nice with Balcony and everything in the Hotel was very nice the pool was always clean and watched with a Life Guard on duty.

This was my first time visiting this Hotel and I will be doing a podcast and a Video with a first class promo so other guest may want to visit your Hotel . I did not get to meet your Manager while I was there due to him being at a conference. This was okay because I thought Mr Ayoub Amor was the Manger due to the fact he was always on hand and dressed very smart.

So to sum up my visit well done to your Hotel I will be recommending it on my Podcast and YouTube Channel which I will be sending Mr Ayoub Amor a copy when completed. I am waiting for the pictures which were taking of us together so I can complete my Review thanks again to all your staff and specially to your Head Chef Faycel and your reception Manager Mr Ayoub Amor for there hospitality during my stay I will...

I am just finishing 11 nights at the Blumar Resort. The hotel is fine, a 3 star at best but still ok. The rooms are very basic but clean. The pool area is nice with plenty of sunbeds, you can usually find one even after 8am.||Now the downsides.||99% of reviews for most hotels praise the animation teams and they are good, no better or worse than any other hotel I’ve stayed at in Tunisia. |Animation is not the only thing that matters in hotels !||The restaurant and food are poor, there is little variation or choice each day.|If you visit the restaurant when it first opens then you will get a clean table with knives and forks, if you are not the first person to a table you will only get a table as once the table is cleared it is never reset, you have to search and I do mean search, for cutlery. They don’t seem to have enough and getting them washed and returned to the restaurant seems to be a big issue !|If you go in about an hour after it opens, it looks like it’s about to close with empty tables everywhere, some tables full of dishes and most with food residue left on them.||The bar is adequate, there is always 1 person serving, rarely 2 even though 3/4 people always appear behind the bar, they obviously are not there to serve guests.|They have strict rules about taking cups out of restaurant to the veranda area ( not the pool area but the veranda area next to the restaurant ) but have no rules about cleaning and preparing tables for guests !|The early evening entertainment is either very good or very poor, it’s repeated weekly.||I know it’s a cheap hotel and I don’t expect much but since the only thing that this hotel could do to impress guests is the food and drink, they don’t try at all.||I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, there are far better around Hammemet.|If you ignore all the crap about animation teams and read everything else, you should be able to make your own informed opinion.||I expect to read the standard hotel reply, thanks, we have taken it on board, we will speak to the relevant departments etc but we all know nothing...

I’ll start with the positives. The staff are lovely and very polite and seem to really enjoy their job.

The pool is cleaned early every single day and the lifeguard is constantly ensuring it is clean throughout the day and adds chlorine if needed.

The rooms are made up every day and the cleaners are very kind and leave petals and towel sculptures on the bed.

The atmosphere is very calming and nice. If you are English like me, I recommend learning some French as most of the clientele are French as are the staff. Though the staff do also speak English.

The beach is beautiful and only a two minute walk away if you use the back gate from the hotel. The hotel is in a very nice location.

Now for the food, it is repetitive and bland and is often recycled and turned into other dishes at dinner if not used at lunch. I don’t have a problem with this as it reduces waste but the food is just so bland. You will find dishes you like but will probably end up eating this for the entire holiday. This is mostly why I think the hotel is 3*

They are also very stingy with the desserts (I think due to the head chef. He watches what the staff dish out and is constantly just shouting at them).

I also did have diarrhoea twice. I’m not sure why, I did try not eating meat for a few days and this didn’t help. It might be because the food is reheated constantly until it’s finished or maybe there was just a bug going around.

On our first night, we were sent to another sister hotel with no explanation as to why. (I assume they were just overbooked). The staff didn’t take the time to explain or apologise and the reception man was annoyed that we kept asking for updates and just refused eye contact with us. We lost half a day of our holiday because of this as we were unable to unpack and just had to sit in reception and wait.

The photographer is rude, tried to grab me to take a photo and also mocked me when I said no thanks.

Overall, I would stay here if you plan to just eat out at other places. Really, the only let down...
