Visited Monday 1st September

Started the day well by getting on the 5D cinema and Barbosa medina discovery, I was informed by staff member E42 that carthage land isnt open until 4pm so enquired about getting tickets, told 4pm which wasn't any bother as we were planning on exploring the medina.

Around 3pm we made our way back towards carthage land and enquired about tickets again, I spoke to the same member of staff again and was told 4pm, we went and found some shade and an ice cream while we waited but then began to see people gathering around the entrance which I was told tickets weren't available until 4pm yet it was 3:30pm, this is when I enquired again and was told 4pm by the same member of staff so waited at the end of the queue line.

It appeared that the 4pm time for tickets was for foreigners as the locals appeared to have no problem retrieving their tickets and then going to wait at the gates.

I waited patiently for 4pm to come around which it did and proceeded to get my and my family's tickets, as theme park goers we were looking forward to the intriguing rides on offer and the two we had the pleasure of riding earlier, this is unfortunately where the parks evident racism and discrimination comes into full force.

I was asked who would be riding, E42 who had issued our tickets earlier knew exactly who would be riding, so I explained myself and my brother in law would be and my wife and mother in law probably wouldn't be but will be coming in with us to enjoy the park, they then questioned my brother in law (who has down syndrome) "can he speak" which he can, and "can he communicate" which he again can, at this is informed them he has been to most theme parks in the UK and only last week rode one of the uks tallest rollercoasters, jokingly telling them he's probably been on more roller coasters than you have, at this point another member of staff appeared, she and E42 spoke in tunisian arabic and giggled several times, to the annoyance of my wife as I didn't see this given they had turned away from me at this point, after this they then turned back and told me I apparently wouldn't fit the restraint, I had done my research and had seen the ride testing while waiting and was confident I would have fit, I again, questioned this and asked to test the restraint as I had been on far smaller rides and been fine at a heavier weight than I am now but they again were less than accommodating and my wife had seen and heard enough from the members of staff in question at this point so we proceeded to leave.

This experience is an extremely unfortunate one given we had had a lovely day around the medina and on the other rides we had gotten on earlier but the staff in question seemed determined to discriminate my brother in law and segregate my family, in a racist manner, in an attempt to humiliate and belittle us in any way they could which is a shame in this day and age especially in a tourist led area of hammamet and at a family theme park.

It has left a sour taste in the mouth as for the rest of our time here everyone has been more than accommodating and extremely friendly, but for a couple of appalling members of staff to purposely discriminate against a grown man and attempt to racially aggravate a family is a bonkers scenario but hopefully our experience will aid others in their choice if they contemplate coming...

We visited on a week day, however I would check the opening hours before you visit as certain times of year only operate in the evening or in the day. We arrived at 1100 and had no queues to get tickets to enter the park, the longest queue for any ride was the log flume and that was only 5 minutes long and also the queue is under cover.

Before we entered the park, we had our bags checked and any bottles of water or food were confiscated regardless if they were sealed or not, however our 2 childrens sippy cups that also had water were allowed through, out of all the theme parks we've visited in the world, none have ever stopped us taking water inside so I can only assume this is a money making ploy 🤷‍♂️

Besides this, the whole place is nice and clean and we all had a great day there, and for the price it's fantastic and (if you're on holiday) well worth a day trip from your hotel as taxi's are cheap enough. We were only 6km away from the park and cost us 10tnd, approx £2.60 each way.

Lunch cost us 22tnd for a pizza and fries and cans of soda were 4tnd each

All in all, including lunch, drinks, ice cream, park entry and a few passes to ride king Kong (it's additional, not in the main Carthage land park and only runs once per hour, on the hour) and the taxis both ways we spent 200tnd or just a little more than £50 GBP

Granted it's not Thorpe Park or Alton Towers, but it's not claiming to be but if you have children under the age of 12, I'd say it's definitely worth a visit.

Note, all rides have height restrictions, some for stopping adults riding if your too tall and some to stop the smaller ones falling out of the quicker rides like the Dragon (it's faster than it looks) oh and not forgetting 'Amulet Dances' when it goes backwards and the carriage becomes airborne 🤣

In short, if your child is taller than 120cm then they will be able to ride everything besides 'Amulet Dances' as that is a 130cm ride, if they are under 120cm then check the website for what your little ones can ride.

MAKE SURE TO BOOK YOUR TICKETS ONLINE Currently, 24th May 2024, tickets on the gate are 35tnd per person however online they can be booked for 27tnd each, so booking online can save a family group of four,...

I've been to carthageland twice once in the summer (August) and the 2nd time the end of December 2024. There are 3 sections to this themepark the aqua park, carthageland and King kong. Carthageland is a good place to visit with children in the summer because the Aqua park is open, and there are plenty of water slides available for young children and teenagers we spent about 4 hours in this section. We purchased hot food to eat in this section (pizza). we then went over to carthageland, which is the theme park. This is a separate section of the park from aqua land. There are a handful of rides for young children to teenagers. The third area is King Kong, which is a singular ride on the far side of the park which is for older children & teenagers. We all had a really good time, well worth the money. When we visited in December 2024, the Aquapark was closed as it was too cold for it to be open. We attended the theme park and King Kong it was not as fun as when we visited in August. We spent around 2 hours in carthageland and we had been on everything. There were no ques, although there were families in the park. I wouldn't recommend visiting when the Aquapark is closed due to there not being enough rides available. It costs us in the summer to visit all 3 areas of the park around £11.50 per person, which is worth it and is a whole day activity. It costs us less than that in December as we only visited 2 areas of the park. I would recommend visiting...
