calm hotel, adults only (though sometimes there were kids at the beach)
staff at the restaurant, cafe, store: helpful, friendly, welcoming staff at reception: poor English, hard to communicate, very difficult to get reliable information out of them (either they don't know, or each one will say something different)
they have an exchange at the reception, but they refused to exchange dinars back into euro when departing (giving me a headache to get this done at the airport)
nice green spaces, but not a lot to walk around; beach was nice but changeable from day to day -- there are small fish who practice biting on your legs and ankles (not dangerous, but can catch you by surprise); the neighboring hotel had very loud music quite often, like non-stop parties
food was really nothing special -- some vegetarian choices (forget about vegan), but not clearly marked (often no tags, and often wrong); very repetitive, poor selection of fruits; bad coffee at breakfast, not a lot of drinks to choose (mostly sugary soft drinks or water)... on the plus side, we had no stomach issues during our stay :) ah, the dining room is bland and not well ventilated, and they are understaffed too
wifi worked fairly well almost everywhere (including the pool and the beach, which was a surprise)
the cafe on -1 ("maurish"?) was one of the highlights -- delicious mint tea, shisha, various drinks, and a very friendly and sympathetic host (thank you, Mohammed, for the games and the company)
Jamila at the gift store on -1 was also very sympathetic -- we made friends and she made our stay more special
the room was pretty good, spacious, AC works well and is fairly silent water pressure on the bathtub sucks :(
as others have noted, the hotel feels dated -- it was probably great 20 years ago, but looks and feels...
Read moreThe staff are amazing, friendly and helpful, always smiling and welcoming. The pool and beach area are lovely, always find a sunbed somewhere, although loads are reserved all day with no one on them! Areas are always clean, drink and food lovely. Always something to choose from and being cooked. Lovely desserts to choose from, loads of salad, bread etc. Our main problem which would of stopped us from booking had we known was that the rooms are very dated. The bed was 2 twins pushed together, which I have no problem with as usually they are made up as a double and you dont notice. These beds though don't go together, so they make up the beds as singles and unless you want to sleep in a huge gap, you just have to sleep on the separate side to your partner! The beds are really firm, to the point of painful. I folded one of the duvets and put it under the sheet to sleep on, my partner found it bad for his back. The pillows are so uncomfortable, must be years old as just lumps of foam inside! Definitely bring a hairdryer as theirs just blows a light breeze of warm air. The shower is awgul, just a dribble and goes from hot to freezing every 10 seconds so you just have to go in and out for the whole shower! Bring a small mirror to do make up as the lights are dark over mirrors. If they added a few things like mattress protectors, new pillows and hairdryers, it would make a massive difference to your stay, but I would of stayed somewhere else had I known the rooms were more like a 2 star hotel. It's such a shame as the rest of the hotel and staff...
Read moreSentido aziza beach hotel is no place for muslims, I was kicked out of the pool for wearing a professional burkini (shorts n tshirt), I wasnt wearing a scarf, literally just a inbetween a tankini and a burkini. I have 8more days here in this silly hotel and I dont want to stay here. I tried to make a formal complaint to their management and they said nothing they can do this is their rules! Trying to contact the agency to arrange another hotel i can stay at that will treat me and respect me for what I wear! Honeslty didnt not think I’ll come across this in a muslim country! I went everywhere in the uk, and Europe never had an issue! Did not expect to find this in this hotel, the embarrassment of being kicked out of the pool was humiliating! I defo do not recommend this hotel in any way shape or form
a quick update, after kicking off a fuss with my agent and Thompson cook, they apologized and the manger let me back in the pool with my shorts and vest swim wear. and he was a really good manager, who knew how to calm me down and deal with my issue professionally. I eventually went in the pool and ended up staying at the hotel.
only other part I would say the hotel needs to improve on its night...
