TL;DR – Don’t book here. Not worth your time and money.
This is a review for The Craton Hotel. I stayed here for 6 days and everyday got worse and this review is based on my 6 days stay. Completely unbelievably. I don’t know why google has tagged this hotel as 5 star. It is not a 5-star hotel — it does not come close to 5 stars at all. The only reason it’s even in consideration is because of the location.
Check-in experience was not okay — nobody speaks proper English, and they made us wait in the lobby for 15 minutes. Then a bellboy came and said it’s all done and took us to the room.
Room – was hot and small. AC was turned off, and even after turning it on, it took a day for it to cool down. We requested 3 beds, and the bellboy said this is the only room available and the hotel is fully booked — and it’s not the hotel’s problem. Literally straight to our face, he said it’s not the hotel’s problem and didn’t give us any other option. We just came from a 14-hour flight and this is what we’re getting. The room size was very small, like it’s in a city. The tv inside the room does not have a single channel that’s in English and no way to connect to Netflix or any other streaming services.
The sofa bed was dusty — I requested bedsheets and pillows and nobody answered, so I went down to the lobby and explicitly asked for them. After 30 minutes, still nothing. Then I went down again and asked for the same things again, and it still took them around 15 minutes to bring the stuff.
Buffet breakfast – 7 to 11 a.m. I would give it 2/10.
The coffee machine didn’t work, and you basically just go for eggs — that’s it. It’s useless, and the bread is cold all the time. Their juices are just apple and orange.
Service – 1/10. You request extra towels? It will take 3 follow-ups and 3 hours of waiting every day. They clean your room but don’t give you new towels, so you just use the same towels for your entire stay. They replaced the bedsheets, though. This has got to be my worst hotel service experience ever.
I’m usually easy and accepting of people and situations, but this was completely ridiculous. That’s why they say that Turkey is losing tourism. They upcharge but don’t match...

My recent experience at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. I was assigned a room that was not only smaller than what I had booked, but also reeked of a repugnant combination of bad odors and the unmistakable stench of cigarettes, seemingly emanating from the air conditioner vent. The level of discomfort this created was beyond tolerable.
To make matters worse, the room's cleanliness was shockingly poor. The floor was visibly dirty, and signs of corrosion were present throughout the room, creating an overall unpleasant atmosphere. When I reached out to the hotel's front desk for assistance, their response was nothing short of astounding. They callously informed me that I had to "live with it" since it was the last available room. This dismissive attitude towards guest concerns is truly unacceptable.
The lack of basic amenities only added to my frustration. The room was stocked with nothing more than tiny towels, and there were no tissues provided. I implored the hotel staff to at least address the odor issue by spraying the room, but my request was met with silence. Frustrated and desperate for a comfortable stay, I resorted to purchasing air fresheners from a nearby supermarket just to make the room somewhat bearable.
Based on my experience, I feel compelled to warn potential visitors to steer clear of this establishment. It is evident that guest satisfaction and comfort are not a priority for this hotel. If you value your money and sanity, I strongly advise you to seek accommodations elsewhere. This ordeal has left me utterly disappointed, and I sincerely hope that sharing my experience will spare others from a similarly...
Read moreAvoid The Crayton at all cost. The hotel is a -1 Star at best, definitely not a 5 Star hotel. The hotel is very dilapidated, run down. The pictures I attached don't lie. They showed me my room and it was in very poor condition. To make matters worse, the room's cleanliness was shockingly poor stained sheets and furniture. The floor was visibly dirty, and signs of corrosion were present throughout the room, creating an overall unpleasant atmosphere. The paint was chipping on the walls, and the walls were stained. When I reached out to the hotel's reception/front desk for assistance, their response was that the website pictures were taken a long time ago. They basically said that I had to "live with it" since it was the last available room. When I protested further, they showed me two other rooms which were in worse condition, they actually called one an upgrade. At this point, they didn't care and told me to get away from the counter. This dismissive attitude towards guest concerns was truly unacceptable. The toiletries were open and already used. When I requested replacements, they brought back more that were open and used. The service was deplorable. The night manager said it wasn't dirty, just stained and in poor condition. They just didn't care. No amenities were available. I couldn't even use a convertor without purchasing. Even the clocks had the wrong time. The only thing 5 star was the cost. They had one bellhop, which provided excellent service. His...
