Where shall I start!!!! Firstly DO NOT believe most of the reviews! Based on those we chose to stay at jasmine! I wouldn't even rate it average. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and shown to our apartment which was extremely small for 4 adult sized people! There was one wardrobe (no handles) for 4 suitcases of clothes, by the time we had unpacked there was no room left for us. The fridge was disgusting with dried up spilt milk, hardly and crockery or cutlery of which was dirty considering it was supposed to be self catering! The toilet was in the shower, the toilet seat was broken and the bin by the toilet had blood on it. ||We then made our way to the pool sunbed area, the pool was filthy, a slimy scum mark on the tiles where the water line was and a film was present on the top of the water, in 2 weeks we did not put our heads in for fear of an ear infection and if it hasn't of been so hot we wouldn't of even ventured in.The umbrellas by the pool were so torn it was pointless putting then up for the amount of shade you got. An empty ice cream freezer stood by the bar?!?! The only other guests there at that time were a couple and a family of four, who were one of the families that repeatedly return, why we don't know! ||On meeting with the rep. we asked about a different room of which the proprietors offered us a room on the top floor, size wise it was much better but still very shoddy. The shower was pathetic and if you have anymore hair than a crew cut you will struggle to get the shampoo out, a feeble trickle that alternates between scalding hot or freezing cold and of which takes a family of four two hours to take a shower before going out in the evening! Then we had a leak through the roof in the bedroom from the air con tank on the roof!!!!||After a week (and one day before the other "regular" families arrived) new umbrellas arrived and sunbed mats along with a crate of 24 bottles of Strongbow, obviously there favoured tipple! On meeting these families they were very nice people and we still cannot understand why they choose to instill their money into a place that isn't interested in investing money into the upkeep of the place and insuring your holiday is a pleasant one. ||The two young boys Kagan and Snoop work extremely hard putting in approx 18hrs a day, the owners, Mum Fatima tries to do everything and I mean everything! From house keeping to all the washing of the towels and bedding to all the cooking for the guests and any passers by! Her cooking is good and we can recommend the saksuka meze which is amazing! But that's where it stops, jack of all trades but master of none! Shame because if she is "cleaning" someone's room and somebody wants to eat she is called down to kitchen where she dones her chefs hat! The Son, Erkan gets up in the afternoon where he then sits at the bar, smoking, playing with his computer and drinking his litre of Jack Daniels per day! ||Ovacik is a nice place and we would definitely return but not to Jasmine, it's up a very steep hill but only a 10 min walk to Hisonoru of which has lots of lovely restaurants, bars, clubs and shops. You can get a dolmus to Olu Deniz or Fetiyhe both worth a visit or two. ||Overall most of the staff pleasant, shame about the shoddy accommodation and poorly kept pool area with its broken chairs and...
Read moreJust back from 2 weeks at the Jasmine Garden apartments the place is in dire need of an upgrade we stayed in the 1st block as you look at the front the doors and windows were still wooden and none of them shut properly we had 3 balconys but could only use 2 because the door on the 3rd would not lock so it was forced shut and left closed there was no tv in the room tatty cutlery, our kettle didn't work and had to be changed, the room was small with one wardrobe a couple of bedside cabinets aplastic garden table and four chairs which was to big for the balcony and two bed settees.||The pool was small but ok wasn't spotless but we did not suffer any ear infections there where enough sunbeds for everyone . The bar didn't stock a lot of different drinks no cans other than iced tea so any other soft drinks were from a bottle which a lot of the time meant it was flat, at one point they had no ice for 2 days!. We ate there a couple of times the Burgers where very nice although I wasn't impressed with the breakfast, you get a better one at Sams Chippy about 5 mins down the road.||The previous comments about the staff are correct with Khan and snoop running round doing everthing Erkan and Aladdin told them to do whist they sat about.||The main town of Hisaronu was about 10 mins walk down the hill from the apartment and was very nice loads of bars , nice restaurants and loads of shops selling all the fake goods you need||good places to eat DELBOYS good steaks and excellent fish and chips, the WOODMAN and the ENGLISH BAR nice sunday roat which is 3 courses for about 11 pounds.||Olu denis is about 10 mins by dolmus||Fethye about 20 mins by dolmus on Tuesday for the market and a walk round the...
Read moreI stayed at these small, secluded apartments recently with a friend, and was amazed about the place, for a number of reasons. It is situated in a very quiet, peaceful location in Ovacik, 5-10 minutes away from the rather more busy resort of Hisaronu, and if it is peace, tranquility, calmness your after, you will most certainly not be disapointed. The surroundings, and location are simply stunning, typically Turkish, and at the bottom, and overlooking the beautiful babadog mountains. You are surrounded by olive trees, lemon trees, goats, wine yards, and Turkish beauty. Whilst we were there, we were treated to a large tortoise, that wandered into the apartments, at it's own leisurely stroll, whilst the wonderfull Fatma, gave it some water, fantastic! The food served is absolutely beautifull, and the breakfasts are just divine, infact, the best breakfasts I have ever had the pleasure to taste. The apartments, granted, aren't the best you will ever stay in, but you get three balconies, which overlook these beautiful mountains, and are completely surrounded by beautiful olive trees, lemon trees, and all sorts of Turkish beauty, absolutely sublime. The Turkish people around the area, are the most friendly, funny, warm and helpfull people you will ever come across, and will go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. Fatma, who runs the apartments, along with her son Erkan, are absolutely wonderful, and again, will go that extra yard, and bend over backwards to help you, regardless of what you need. If your looking for a beautifull, warm, friendly and calming place to stay, I can absolutely assure you, that you will most certainly not be...
