Me and my friend stayed 1 night in this hostel and almost this was too much. We were too annoyed by the next two factors:||- It was too cold in the room||- It was noisy at 11 pm and some hours during the night||||+ The location was good (near bus station and near center and shopping)||+ The staff was very kind and polite (they told us where to find the best shopping and we did!)||+ Some of the furniture were recently renovated, you could see that... ||+ Also shared bathroom didnt bother us - it came with the key and it was big and luxurious (read "new") ||||The rooms were also very small, but we didnt bother with that (we were all day out of the hostel). If we stayed more than one night, it probably would become a problem, because we almost had nowhere to step, because the luggage took all the place (it was basically the bed and thats just it).||||We payed 10 € per night per person (for room for 2 person and shared bathroom) in December, so we can say we couldnt expect more for that kind of money... But I can say again: we were very satisfied with the location - you get off the bus in Kadikoy, go over the road on the other side, a little bit back up the road and than right up the street (a little bit of a slope)... The hostel will be on the right. :) Its easy to find if you print out Google maps directions... :)||||Overall, if you want to just sleepover for 1 night, it would be OK, but for more nights, I couldnt go there. If I go back someday, Ill probably also wont go there for 1 night because of lack of my sleep I didnt get the first time. ||||Hope it...
Read moreI ended up at Kevin's hostel by necessity. After staying 3 days in the Sultanahmet area (which was very noisy), I missed my flight back and needed a place to stay overnight on the Kadikoy side. Luckily, this place had a room available for a very low price. I didn't expect much for the price, but was surprised at how nice this hostel was. I booked a single room which was pretty big, with clean sheets and excellent internet access. The hotel is very close to the ferry, which can get you to the touristy areas of Sultanahmet quickly (and is pretty fun to ride). I actually enjoyed this hotel more than my expensive one in Sultanahmet. It was so quiet, and it had a more local feel. I never had to wait to use the shower, which was very large compared to most hotels in Istanbul. The staff didn't really speak any English, but it wasn't a problem as I never had a problem hand gesturing what I needed. The owner even offered me coffee before I left in the morning, but I had to decline due to being scared of missing my flight again, LOL. Anyway, if you are staying in Istanbul, this is a great place to stay. You really don't need to stay in Sultanahmet, and in fact I think the Kadikoy side is much for enjoyable, and cheaper. It is very cheap to take the ferry across to the other side, and they come every 20 minutes or so. Next time, I will probably stay on this side, and would be happy to stay at this...
Read moreI visited here with a group of friends, one friend was leaving a few days early. Apparently when we booked the hostel we said that she would be with us the whole time so they charged us 8 people for 2 weeks. When we politely told them that this was not the case they said that they need all the money even though our friend was only staying for 3 nights!! After that friend left we had another friend staying with us for 4 nights so we asked the staff if she could take the place of the friend who left when it comes to payment and they said no and charged her full price for the four nights EVEN THOUGH she was sleeping in our friends bed! They were extremely rude about the whole situation and in the end we paid them a lot more than they deserved. We left the hostel earlier than expected because I did not like the way they treated us. Also, if you are allergic to cats do not go to the basement. One bathroom to each floor became problematic as one of the workers pulled one of my teammates aside and told her to take faster showers and get out of the bathroom faster because their are more people in the hostel... our team were the only people in the hostel. It’s unfortunate because I would give them more stars if they weren’t so rude. Kill them with kindness and make sure they charge you correctly. They keep raising their prices and it’s not really worth it. You are better off finding an Airbnb...
