If you have a problem, it will likely not get resolved and the staff at this hotel will stop contacting you. My first issue was the service. The staff are very friendly and concerned and will try their best to accommodate you. However, when I mentioned an issue about unfair and unjustified pricing on their behalf, they did not resolve it and then stopped responding to emails from my family. I spoke to two guest relations employees in-person about my issue: the first one assured me an answer by the next day; however, I was leaving the next day to travel back overseas and had to speak to a second employee who had no resolution for me. I thought that they would at least email my sister with a resolution as they had emailed her promptly several times prior to our arrival, but to my dismay, we never heard from this hotel. I even emailed them once I returned home, but it has now been two months and I haven’t received any response. I have severe food allergies which made it very difficult for me to eat safely in Turkey. When I arrived at this hotel, the guest relations employee offered to have the kitchen staff cook me a safe meal upon hearing about my previous experiences. On our second night, I asked the Lima kitchen to prepare plain chicken cooked in salt and oil. They offered to prepare it as a Shish Kabob, which I declined because I was worried about how my stomach would react since I was still recovering from food poisoning. I was given 4 small pieces of chicken thighs, about 2.5 inches in diameter. I expected this meal to cost no more than 200 lira, however, when I got the bill it was 630 lira (total of 710 lira with a drink of tea). I was shocked at the price, especially since I was not informed of the price of the meal prior to ordering it, but I decided to just pay it since I hadn't eaten a meal in several days and was very tired. I compared this pricing to the meals my family ate, which included a whole pizza made from scratch in the kitchen for around 400 lira - we all thought my meal was greatly overpriced. The next day, my family and I were at the hotel’s Pagos rooftop bar. I noticed the menu there had a Shish Kabob meal that included rice, vegetables, and bread listed at 630 lira. This means that the prior day I was charged for a Shish Kabob meal, even though I declined it and just ate 4 small pieces of chicken. It is absurd that this was the most expensive meal I had eaten in Turkey, and it was the quickest and least complex to prepare. My other issue with the hotel is the atmosphere – being right on the sea, the smell became quite bad at times. They also host very loud rooftop parties on weekends… which means no sleep if you are staying closer to the top. Otherwise, the sunsets are beautiful and the hotel facilities were by far the most unique and clean I had seen in Turkey.
I am grateful the staff at this hotel took the time and care to prepare me a safe meal. However, the disconnection from them instead providing me with any response is completely...
Read moreI am very disappointed at how the personal feeling and the desire to make you feel special ad a guest has gone downhill. I am very sad to be writing this and may probably choose an alternative 5 star hotel for my 2 week stay in September. ||Service around the pool is very poor, you have to go mainly go in and order rather than the personal service of being given a poolside service - there is one guy with curly hair who still cares and looks after you, but there is a woman who looks very unhappy and does not speak a word to you! Yesterday, there was a function at the pool area - the pool is the main part of the experience and the whole area was not set up all day - no alternative was offered or apologies or advance warning! ||Health and Safety - the poolside toilets light was not working and it was pitch black in there - when I closed the toilet door my toe got stuck underneath the door! It was agony. At first, the hotel was amazing - treating my wound and sending a member of staff to the hospital with us to translate - the young man was brilliant. However, this was where the hotels responses ended. I was unable to swim and really walk around for 2 days. I could not leave the hotel. I emailed the hotel advising of this and explained that I would have expected complimentary drinks and food at the pool side at the very least - considering it was their lack of health and safety that caused my Injury - I had no response to my email from the managers and instead one of the staff from guest relations had to go and find the managers and their response was, it was my fault and it was an accident which means they don’t believe that they need or want to try and enhance my stay in any way - in a 5 star hotel where I have visited many times! So dissatisfied:-( ||Our room also went uncleaned and we had to make a fuss to get it cleaned - I don’t want to nags a fuss on holiday - I want to enjoy my stay without complaint. ||Finally - I went to the spa yesterday - I had a lovely treatment before here this week - however all I could hear was drilling from next door construction site - when I spoke to the spa manager and explained that it had totally ruined my treatment- he said - sorry but we cannot do anything about it? Had I been warned in advance I would have not booked. The actual treatment was great but I just could not relax. So, today, we are going to the Swiss hotel for the day to check out their...
