Soirée — Restaurant in Konak

A fantastic find on the waterfront in Konak Pier, perfect view and weather at 7PM on a Saturday night. We ordered the grilled lamb chops, which were tender, juicy, and full of flavor, and the grilled sea bream, which they expertly cleaned and plated tableside (always a good sign). The fish was cooked just right, delicately seasoned to let the freshness shine.

The standout of the night was the Linguini di Mare, a buttery, briny seafood pasta in a light cream sauce; this was easily the best I’ve had anywhere, and I’ve eaten this dish in at least three countries.

Shoutout to the Urla Chardonnay (a Turkish white worth seeking out), which paired beautifully with everything. Excellent service, cool views, and food that hits all the right notes: highly recommend if you’re in İzmir...

Eleven days travelling around Turkey, this restaurant wins the record for most expensive and worst quality food. We both ordered two different types of meat (270 Tl each) and both steaks were tough as a shoe and not particularly tasty due to the extreme amount of smoke that they have received during the cooking. In particular the entrecote had no sauce, although requested, and was lying on arguably tasteless vegetables. As if it wasn't enough the music was extremely loud, passable for a cocktail bar, definitely not for a restaurant. Waiter service is decent. The only positive note is the good selection of Turkish wine. The location is overall nice and it would not take a lot of effort from the owners to make a nice place out of it, yet this is clearly...

Food, service and location all lovely. However if you are a tourist I would highly recommend you avoid this resturant. The bill received was higher than expected, when I queried I was informed if was correct. I asked if service had been added and if that was the reason for the high bill, I was told only a small cover charge for bread and water had been added. Having been told there was no service added we left a cash tip. Back at hotel I decided to check and translate the bill. A service charge had been added and in addition extra costs. Over 1000tl of costs were added and in addition a cast tip was left. Very dishonest of you, shame on you for ripping people off
