My wife and I stayed at Kordon Pasaport Hotel in izmir along with my wife's sister and her husband. The hotel is a seafront property with breathtaking views of the ferry terminal, Kordon Promenade and Karsiyaka port of Izmir. The rooms are large, very well appointed and service was next to none. We had trouble finding our way to the hotel for the first time but the manager walked up to street to waive us in to the parking area and helped us park our car right infront of the hotel and the staff greeted us with coffee, tea and refreshments while we checked in. The rooms were equal or better than 4 or 5 star hotels in USA. Comfortable king size beds, sparkling clean rooms with wall-to-wall, floor to ceiling windows and balconies offering dramatic views of the harbor, ferry terminal and beautiful kordon promenade. The amenities in the room included, multiple bottles of shampoos, conditioners, mouthwash, hand wash, body wash and other luxuries and other thoughtful items include comb, shoe polish, shoe horn, bathrobes and many other extras. The hotel's Bonjour Restaurant's menu was extensive and everything was tasty and plentiful, my steak and fries was delicious. In summary, Kordon Pasaport is a great hotel at a reasonable price, I recommend this property to anyone in search of a great hotel without paying a...
Read moreThis hotel is a bit dated with some maintenance problems in the bathroom and a sticky sliding door. Not super luxury, except for… the view over the water. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff was excellent. I live in a coastal area, so some of the less than perfect can be down to maintaining an older building close to salt water. Things just age faster, in my own experience. Therefore, I can’t bring myself to give fewer stars! I wonder if you can beat the price for a location like this one. We were visiting friends who live about a mile along the waterfront, so we walked the area and everything was easy to get to, or get a cab to. The breakfast was a typical Türkiye hotel fare, maybe with a little less to choose from than some, but with a sweet, helpful staff. There is an outdoor area to eat in, too. |This hotel is within easy walking distance of shopping, an old bazaar, and MANY cafeterias. For that, head past the ferry dock, walk along the water for a mile (a beautiful, flat walk) and go in a block or two at Alsancak Gündoğdu Meydanı… A lot of places behind are serving the locals and they have to be good enough to stay...
Read moreA nightmare. Can’t shower for straight 12 hours since they don’t have hot water in our room. Can you imagine? What kind of 4-star hotel is this? If you are up for super low quality service and lots of sour faces of the staff, go for it.
The breakfast is another disaster. Normally, the staff must take custom orders for omelettes as you got seated, yet they never ask you. We were not aware of the existence of filtered coffee either. They hid the coffee maker behind the bar area and they make it sound like you should pay for it. They serve only the cheapest tea, visibly in the buffet area. The items in the buffet are quite low standard.
Expedia, Booking, and major booking sites should take this hotel off of their list in Izmir. Super cheating since they don’t deserve a star. DO NOT spoil your quality days at this hotel.
I have been traveling in Turkey for almost a months from one place to another, I have not seen such a...
