I just came back from one of my best holidays from Kamelya K Club in Side. My family and I stayed here for one week from Sep 25th till Oct 1st (luckily outside of the busy tourist time) and we enjoyed every moment of our stay and love this resort. We highly recommend Kamelya K club. Overall, it is a resort for everyone regardless of age and taste, and everything is planned so well that you never feel that they are targeting a specific group of people. Will definitely be back!I originally booked two rooms for 7 people, but upon our arrival at the hotel we got free upgrade to a family suite with two bedrooms and a big living room, all with balconies. We were very happy with this as all of us stayed together which was more fun. The suite was spacious and bright and the beds were very comfortable. The resort itself is a very big one consists of 3 hotels, K club, Fulya hotel and Seline Hotel. No matter at which of the 3 hotels you stay, you have access to all the facilities (pool, bar, coffee shop, gym, Turkish Hamam and spa) of the other hotels except their main restaurants. However, there is late dinner and early breakfast in the main restaurant of the Fulya hotel that everyone can use during the specified time window. The whole resort is very clean and well maintained. The snack bars and coffee shops are well spread and you can always find something to eat or drink during the whole day very easily. There are varieties of foods in the restaurant. Breakfast is my favorite meal and I like that the most, and I was very happy with all the options I had. For other meals, I mainly liked the stews, as they were tastier. Overall, taste and quality of the food is good, however, the day over day menu is pretty much the same and not changing much. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pools and the beach. During the time of our visit we never felt there is not enough sunbeds (again we were there in a low season). There are many pools both for adults and kids. I specifically liked the big slides that adults could use. The beach is also very clean, we enjoyed our time at the beach given that is all sand beach. The entertainment team was very professional, every night there was a show going on for both kids and adults on the main stage, which continued with more fun activities (music, dance and Karaoke etc) at Nazar baar.Last but not least and the biggest plus of the hotel is the friendly staff, in every part from the main desk to restaurants, bars, pools etc etc people are very nice and willing to help you in case of any question and request and to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay. I cannot thank them enough here. The only thing I would suggest to change is paying extra for the A la carte restaurants. This is was the first all inclusive resort I've been that charges...
Read moreReview of TUI and Hotel Kamelya: Absolute disaster, never again!
I booked a trip with TUI for €3,600 (90,000 CZK) for 3 people to Turkey, specifically to Hotel Kamelya. Based on the photos and description on TUI’s website, I paid for a family room. However, upon arrival, the hotel accommodated us in a completely different, smaller room that did not match the booking at all. The reception refused to change the room, so I contacted TUI.
Their “help” took 2 days, and only after I threatened them with a lawyer. When they finally assigned us a new room, it turned out that the windows faced directly towards the bar, where loud music from speakers was blasting every evening from 10 PM to midnight. Sleeping was impossible. I complained again, but it took another 3 days to get a new room. In total, 6 days out of our 14-day holiday were ruined!
A TUI representative? None. All issues had to be solved via chat, where the replies seemed to come from bots or some AI, as they often made no sense. This situation clearly shows that TUI doesn’t care about their clients’ problems at all. TUI's telephone support is also poor, as calls from Turkey are expensive and the person on the line speaks Polish (the trip was organized from the Czech Republic).
Hotel Kamelya is a scam. They don’t honor bookings and treat guests like an inconvenience. TUI completely fails to provide any support. Clients abroad are left helpless against the hotel’s incompetence and bad practices.
As compensation for everything, TUI offered us only €280 (7,000 CZK). This is just a fraction of the trip’s cost, and considering almost half the holiday was ruined, it’s an insult. I didn’t have the time or energy to sue them, so I accepted the compensation, but I will never recommend this travel agency or this hotel to anyone.
I’m attaching photos as proof. Never again with TUI or Hotel Kamelya!
Response to the hotel's reply from hotel employee İpek KARA, CRM representative: Your general response is not based on truth. The first two photos of the room that was booked and paid for are screenshots from the TUI website, where the booked and paid room is listed as FZX2. It is still available in the offer. The room assigned to me by the hotel does not match the photos advertised, and even a layman can see that the room looks completely different and is much smaller when compared to photos 5, 6, 7, and 8. I don't know what the relationship is between your hotel and TUI and how much TUI paid you, but I booked and paid for a completely different room with TUI than the one you accommodated me in...
Read moreWe are staying here now from 15th July to 27th July and we have mixed feelings about it. What’s positive is obviously the sea. Broad beach line where you can find sun-beds anytime of the day (which is strange). Rather clean beach, perfect entrance to the sea for kids. All other experience is quite average, but definitely not for 5* at all. To begin with, air conditioning in our room doesn’t work properly, so with the 40+ degrees outside, in our room is 30. It’s impossible to sleep. Our complains and talks with both receptionist and manager for 3 days in a row didn’t result in anything except for changing the filter. They offered three rooms to switch, but all the same - air conditioner blows the air around without any hint on cooling. Mr. Manager is confident that’s fine. In my opinion, as long as they have centralized system of conditioning, they simply saving money on cooling. Doesn’t matter if you set 16 degrees or 24, the temperature is the same day and night. And we are not lonely with our problem. Cleaning in rooms is very random. In morning they have a priority on cleaning for upcoming guests, that’s why your room can be make up after noon when people use to rest from the unreal sun outside. If it’s not comfortable for you, you don’t have cleaning. Pool areas are very dirty, it seems like no one take cares of them during the day. If you come at 8 am to any pool, there is no sun beds available as they all are booked with towels or other stuff. It’s weird for a 5* hotel, normally personnel takes everything away in the morning for guests for not to pre-occupying them. 6 restaurants a la cart, 5 of them are for extra charges. Italian is very good (but never order pizza there), to have some rest from the crowds in buffet. Others are average. In the main restaurants sometimes air conditioning doesn’t work as well and your meal turns into a hell, not because of crowds but because you’re sweating. ‘Family concept’ in naming is very fun. Mini club for kids is horrible, nothing to do at all. Staff there is unfriendly as well. Cinema works only once a day and the smell in this room is disgusting. Playstation room doesn’t work because it’s broken. They had special program for teens, but as long as animator quit it’s not available. What’s nice is evening activities on the football field. They have something for kids for free and for adults as well. Thumbs up for this. Finally, I’m waiting for our stay here to finish and never return because I’ve never met so anti-guest related behavior from the staff which is very...
