TUI BLUE Barut Andiz — Hotel in Manavgat

After reading all the wonderful reviews on Tripadvisor & Facebook groups, I made a booking with Tui at a very good price for August.||||We arrived late at the hotel and were offered a welcome drink and our luggage was taken to our swim up room straight away, while we had drinks with friends who had arrived the previous day.||||Check in was very swift and welcoming, we were given room keys with a map and meal times were explained to us.||There are sandwiches & Fruit available in a fridge by the lobby bar if you need to eat if arriving late due to Tui’s wonderful flight times!||We had great service in the lobby throughout the holiday by the wonderful Halit.||||ROOM||Our room was in a fabulous location, we were on the end, nearest to the main pool, which had a handy short cut straight to the pool plus we also had our lovely swim up pool.||||We had cakes, chocolates and apples on arrival along with a bottle of red wine.||||Room had everything you need, Shampoo, Shower Gel, Hairdryer, Fresh towels daily.||||Coffee/Tea making facilities, along with a mini bar stocked with water, beers and juices, this is refilled daily if required.||||Room cleaning was excellent from Feride – Thank you||||We pre booked 2 a la cartes and also the timeless dinner which was amazing, the food was so good.||||The Tui Blue app is excellent and we were able to pre book the cocktail making before we left the uk – bookings opened 48hours before the event, This was hosted by Burak, great mixologist, such a good experience – make sure you do this as places are limited to 12 I believe, was great fun.||||POOL||We were at the pool most days around 8am, there were always beds around, but if you like a certain spot, you may need to head down earlier.||Pool games and aqua were on daily, also had the floating meditation beds which were popular.||1 thing to note, but not to compare, we had previously stayed at the Acanthus and were disappointed there with the sun bed comfort as not all padded, but here at Andiz, every single bed has a padded mattress, also on the beach, which is a must if you suffer with back issues :)||Pools were cleaned and all areas hosed down every night and beds re arranged for the next day.||||We received amazing service from Ismail who works like a trojan, always with a smile on his face, delivering any drink you require, also comes round with a cocktail trolley/Fruit/Freezing ice towels to cool you - :)||||Beach was literally a 2 minute stroll out of the back of the hotel, re entry is via your room key.||Beach was manned by the lovely Ercan, who comes round with drinks, fruit, sandwiches. ||There are showers on the beach too along with the padded sun beds.||Beach in Side is beautiful and sandy and a great temp in August.||||||FOOD||Breakfast on offer was excellent with a varied choice in the buffet, oh was pleased that they had smoked salmon on offer along with omelettes and lots of other choices cold and hot available.||||Lunches were spent daily in the Culinarium, served by the lovely Nuri and Memo, a great team! Missing our lunches already.||||We booked the Olive and the Culinarium a la carte restaurants which were equally amazing.||||We also booked the Timeless dinner, please book this, it was fabulous and the food was absolutely fantastic, all 6 courses, just make sure that you go hungry – Lol.||||On our last night, there was the barbeque meat night, where you select your cuts of meat and take them to the chefs to be cooked, meat was fabulous and this was so well organised, our friends on the previous Friday had the seafood option and said this was really nice too.||||DRINKS||All drinks were of excellent quality, loved the passion fruit frozen daquiri’s and the frozen mohijtos during the day. (Safak does a mean Frozen Pina Colada.)||||Cocktails were all excellent quality, loved the Porn Star Martinis and Mohijtos.||Prosecco was very nice, pink & white, along with the house wines white red & rose.||Halil – good to chat to you and thank you for your fab service||||ENTERTAINMENT||Was very good, we saw some great music bands and also 1st time for us to try the silent disco, which was great fun, the band on our last night Adinkra – I think they were called were brilliant.||||TUI BLUE TEAM||Were fantastic, helping out and checking with all guests daily to ensure all was ok, makes a pleasant change to actually meet the lovely team in person.||||We were able to keep our room till 3 which was great as our pick up was not till 630pm – Thank you.||||Thank you to All the staff we came across were excellent.||||Savas The hotel manager was at the hotel all day from morning till night, chatting to all guests and ensuring all was ok , it was great to meet you and all your excellent team at the Andiz. Staff 0/10 Facilities 8/10

Dangerous place! Constant harassment from different staff members (from the chef to the hotel manager). We had to leave the hotel with the police. Think twice before coming and ONLY with a man.

The story Once we returned from the beach and our room keys were BLOCKED. At reception the hotel manager SHOUTED and THREATENED us ( 2 women) with the hands near my face. We had to go to police as our passports and phones were in the rooms. They literally blackmailed us. It all happened after I rejected the suggested gift from the hotel manager (free update to the suite, champagne and flowers). He shouted at me “you should be happy for me you should smile” after locked himself with me alone in the room. I shouted at him as I was scared and left to the beach. Afterwards our rooms were blocked. The hotel manager basically blackmailed us. We had to go to police, it took us 4 hours in the beach clothes without food to get our keys back. Best part is that the hotel manager told police that we (young girl with mom) disturbed the guests (LOL!), but could not provide any proofs (like complaints). To summarize: hotel manager wanted to bribe me with a gift, felt hurt when I rejected it, blackmailed us with BLOCKING the keys and lied to the police that we disturbed other guests not having any proof of that. Police kindly helped us to pack and leave the hotel safely.

For the rest if you like to risk😂 Terrible Reception Not competent at all. The girl hardly speaks English and does not speak German. They forget stuff, you have to constantly remind them. Messed with our reservation at a la carte restaurant, with the upgrade room I asked for and was going to pay for. Cherry on the pie: Yana from reception told me “I did my job perfectly this is not my fault that the other staff in the hotel is so slow”. Drinks What they call champagne and cocktails is not drinkable, but I guess this is expected in Turkey. One great guy in the lobby bar and his Aperols only saved us. A la carte restaurant Not tasty, arrogant waiter. Messed with our reservation: we had 2 people in separate rooms. At the restaurant they told that we have only 1 reservation for 1 person. The waiter than told that he “will be very kind and help us anyway”. They messed and afterwards showed misplaced indulgence. Some of the evening entertainment Boring Saturday live music Most staff does not speak English Obsessive staff communication Once the waiter stole my spoon while I was eating as a his way to “flirt”. Constant pushing “why are you not happy”, “smile now” etc. someone might like it though but I found it wildly inappropriate. You may be bothered by the sounds from mosque if you have the rooms towards it (I constantly woke up at 5am).

Ok Rooms, cleaning The rooms can be refreshed, the cleaning not the best ever but fine. Fitness I visited yoga and meditation. Was nice but short (30min). Massage Mom took full body massage, said it was ok.

Fantastic Beach and beach experience From bags with the towels in your room to Kerim (beach guy) it is the best part of the hotel. Kerim was literally the guy who made our stay there. Clean beach, water, ice cream there, everything is super clean, sandy beach with convenient water access. Food at the main restaurant Great quality, great choice, not too fat or too much meat focus as you might expect in Turkey. The problem was only with waiters;(

This was our first visit to Barut Andız, having already been to Turkey several times. And wow!….this hotel is so good we’re joining the crowds of people that come back again and again! All the positive reviews of this hotel are accurate and there’s little that we can add that hasn’t already been said. It is truly a fantastic hotel!||We wish to express our gratitude to the hotel for all of the help you gave to us with our mobility needs. The outstanding care started as soon as we made our booking when Mehmet quickly answered our enquiries about facilities for those with mobility issues and he offered us an adapted room near the lifts.||If you have any mobility issues then this hotel will go the extra mile to look after you. While we were there, others who were also less mobile or in a wheelchair were given similar assistance. It was easy to get around the hotel if you are of limited mobility, and there are even chairs by the lifts to sit on while waiting for the lift to arrive. The only stairs that were needed to be negotiated were the six steps between the reception lobby and the ground floor lift area, which also has a wheelchair lift installed.||Our room was comfortable, well air-conditioned and had screened doors if you wanted to sleep with the balcony doors open. We managed to get through the holiday without a single mosquito bite (I am usually a mosquito magnet).||We were kindly offered the option of having two sunbeds reserved for us, which ensured we had close access to the steps into the pool. The pool itself was a fantastic one for swimming in and for cooling off from the high summer temperatures. It is a large pool with a level 1.4m depth throughout and easy step access at one end. During early July the pool was very warm and it was a delight to be in. The shallower Jacuzzi section, again with easy steps, was great for just cooling off and sitting or floating in the bubbles. ||The food and drink included a huge variety and quality of delicious Turkish food as well as many other cuisines to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. You will not go hungry or thirsty here! We were allocated a reserved table in the restaurant to be near the counters, and were very well attended to by the super efficent and very friendly Emrah and other waiters.||The hotel is very well managed and all of the staff seem to enjoy their jobs. As others mention, the manager Savaş is always around and interacting with guests. He joined others in waving us off to the airport on our last day, something we never experience at other hotels. We were thankful for Mehmet’s advice to depart for the airport at least 4 hours before the flight time as an accident blocking the road meant our taxi got to the airport much later than planned. Fortunately we had booked the VIP fast track through the airport and we easily made our flight home. Looking forward to returning next...
