AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THIEVES ON STAFF, SUPPORTED BY HOTEL MANAGEMENT.
When I checked my wallet, which had been left in hotel room since arrival, I found that €60 and £100 had been stolen. We were in room 219 and guests in room 220 had made complaint to reception the previous day as a wallet and Armani bag had been stolen from their room. The hotel manager took no responsibility, stating policy that items are left in room at own risk and that the hotel is not responsible for “lost” items. On this basis, I set up phone camera and recorded hotel maid unzipping my bag, searching the section where wallet had previously been stored, and rezipping when she was unable to find it. With this evidence of maid’s conduct, I spoke to hotel staff at reception. Receptionist took my claim extremely seriously, taking video from my phone and coming with me the room to see what had happened along with a member of hotel security. This changed entirely when hotel manager (a Dutchman) arrived and began to deal with the issue instead of reception staff. Immediately, it became clear he had one concern – to avoid returning funds at all costs.
Firstly, he told me that I was the one who had done something illegal by recording the maid as she unzipped/rezipped my bag. Secondly, he stated that the video did not show her stealing, only that she had opened, searched and closed the section of my bag. Thirdly, he stated that he would have been more helpful if I had spoken to him as soon as I had become aware of the theft; however, as stated above the guests in the room next to me did this and received no help/support as they had no evidence of wrongdoing. Fourthly, he used the fact that this was the day we were due to leave and therefore had to make airport transfer/flight home to create time pressure by stating that if I did want anything to be done, the police would need to be contacted. He confirmed that this would likely result in my being the one in trouble for recording the attempted theft, instead of the maid/thief who had searched bag/stolen money. He also confirmed that it would be extremely expensive as I would have to pay for professional translator at the police station, alongside completely re-planning and paying for my travel home, as the process would have prevented my leaving hotel on time. The Dutch manager also pointed out that he offers a safe in each room free of charge, a line of argument that basically suggests that he is aware members of his staff cannot be trusted around guest’s money and valuable possessions. Essentially, this left me and my partner with no option to leave hotel feeling violated, mistreated and entirely let down by the hotel management.
The manager said he had spoken to the maid who admitted accessing my bag but that they refused to take responsibility for taking money from my bag the previous day. I genuinely felt like I had performed a duty in notifying hotel they had a thief on staff, as this will of course result in negative experiences and reviews such as this one. I was shocked and appalled and find that, rather than wanting to protect paying customers/guests, and return stolen funds with an apology for what had clearly occurred, the managers only concern was to ensure the hotel was not liable for the money stolen from room by his cleaning staff. My understanding is that this maid will still be working in hotel, but he did say he would “keep a close eye on her” in future.
The attitude and conduct of these two members of staff have really let down an otherwise wonderful workforce. The Jet2 representative (all-inclusive package booked through Jet2) was more understanding but unable to overrule hotel manager in terms of Nergis Beach Hotel being responsible for returning stolen funds. This is a huge shame, as the vast majority of hotel staff are friendly, polite and work incredibly had to make sure guests enjoy their stay.

Read moreMostly good standard solid fare with some areas or opportunities for improvement.|Good.|Location: 5* excellent, in and around plenty of shops in both directions, approx 25 mins walk from grand bazaar/marina or 5 mins on packed dolmus bus(40 tl around 80p whatever your trip length, either cash or card), on beach (long but not very wide)|Food: 3* Not very inspiring in the hot sections but something to eat everyday if you dont mind fried chicken and chips. 3 or 4 meat choices meat nearly always in sauces which could do with being optional/ on the side. Salad selection very good and popular. Breakfast is probably worst meal with lots of cheese, boiled eggs and watered down squash. Beans rock hard, presume made locally. Some days good choice of breads, other days limited even at 8am.|Cleanliness: 5* Outstanding. Constantly sweeping and wiping down outside and general public areas.||Opportunities/ needs improving||Usual story- 3* Pool beds very few in number and all 'reserved' by 7am. However local/Turkish speaking personnel seem able to get extra beds brought up to poolside later in day, jamming up available spaces. Beds usually available on beach all day and beds in garden mostly gone by midday. Parasols need updating with bigger and or tilting ones to provide better cover without regular need to move the beds. Watch out for biting ants in parts of garden. Staff member should move pool towels if not used for 2 to 3 hours.||Restaurant/food|2* Need to decide if they are offering table service for drinks. Sometimes they come to table (depends who's serving) other times you serve yourself. Very unclear. Need to ensure they have enough food for service as twice we went down for dinner around 8 and most desserts were already unavailable. (Did ask and they said that's it)|No simple offering like ice cream for children. The vanilla ice cream that is served from 3pm at one of the bars ran out by 20 past on 3 occasions. On the days we did get it, it was so small it didn't seem worth the wait. ( can get soft ice cream in blue port shopping centre or burger king for 40tl (80p) 1 to 2 mins walk)|Needs better air conditioning or existing turning up. ||Housekeeping|4* Generally good from cleanliness perspective but seemed to skimp on towels and toilet roll. Sometimes we got 2 and sometimes 3 towels so had to go collect another on more than one occasion. If toilet roll on holder had one or a few sheets on it, they didn't replace. Had to go source. ||No iron available to use in rooms or in an ironing room. They will iron your clothes for you for a per item charge.||Staff|3* Mixed as per the usual. Some kitchen staff, security and bar staff (Kaan very good) will smile and acknowledge you pleasantly. Found most reception staff unwelcoming and cold. Big difference between professionalism and welcoming - the occasional smile would not go amiss.||So overall it's okay but...
Read moreAs a family of 4, we thought Premier Nergis was okay. Rooms were clean, comfortable beds and good air con. WiFi was hit and miss, food was okay. |Sunbeds were limited around the pool, 6 days we were unable to get a bed around the pool, 1 day we did because I went down stairs at 7am to ensure I secured 2 beds. |Towels on pool beds all morning and nobody sat on them. We asked a staff member on one of the days if we could carry 2 beds up to the pool side and was told no, the next day another person asked the same to another member of staff and they were able to? |Didn't enjoy not being able to watch my children in the pool. Lots of sunbeds on the beach, but no actual beach to play on as sunbeds cover beach up to sea. |Entertainment outside the hotel was good at local bars, minimum Entertainment at the hotel. Didn't know if they did any Entertainment as no information at all. |All inclusive cocktails weren't great, nor was choice of drinks. First time going all inclusive and wont be doing it again. This was an important holiday for my family and was disappointed. Hotel was just okay to sleep in. |ChatGPT said:|Here’s a rewritten version of your review with clearer flow and tone while keeping the overall message of disappointment:||We stayed at Premier Nergis as a family of four and, overall, the experience was underwhelming. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. However, WiFi was unreliable, and the food was only average.||One of the biggest frustrations was the pool area. Sunbeds were extremely limited – for six out of our seven days we couldn’t get one. The only time we managed was when I went down at 7am to secure two beds. Most mornings, towels were left on beds for hours with no one using them, which was frustrating. When we asked staff if we could move a couple of unused beds closer to the pool, we were told no – yet the very next day another guest was allowed to do just that. The inconsistency was disappointing. Because of this, we couldn’t properly relax while keeping an eye on our children in the pool.||The beach wasn’t much better. Although there were plenty of sunbeds, they covered the sand all the way to the sea, leaving no real beach space for children to play.||Entertainment was lacking. There was plenty happening in nearby bars, but very little at the hotel itself. No schedule or information was provided, so it was impossible to know if the hotel even offered anything.||As for the all-inclusive package, it didn’t meet expectations. Cocktails were poor quality, the overall drinks selection was limited, and it left us feeling that “all-inclusive” wasn’t worth it. This was our first time trying it, and it will likely be our last.||This holiday was important for our family, and we left feeling disappointed. While the hotel was fine for a place to sleep, it fell short in too many other areas...
