Karen Brasserie — Restaurant in Marmaris

First of all, #1 on tripadvisor and they do deserve it for how well our meat was cooked and the fantastic staff .

We visited karens for dinner one of our nights in Marmaris. We went straight for a chateaubriand for two people (750g). The meat was AMAZING and i cannot stress it enough!! We both loved it so much and feel that it is the best piece of meat that we have eaten. It was PERFECT in both flavor and texture! We asked for it to be medium rare and it was on point. But the meat was so tender that you didn't even have to use the knife. You could simply pull it apart with no force and it more or less melted in the mouth!!

As for the side dished and sauces, some improvements could be made. The meat was served with chips and rice, grilled vegetables, incredibly tasty fried mushrooms and some paprika+tomato mixture. As for sauces, the dish was served with a gravy and some white sauce containing slices of onion.

What we would have wanted was boiled and/or sautéed potatoes instead of the rice as it (especially the rice) clashed with the luxurious meat. As for the sauces, a bearnaise and a red wine sauce should have been served instead as it would be a much nicer combination.

We barely touched the rice, gravy and white sauce because it did not fit in, but we finished all of the meat and mushrooms.

I moaned at my partner for making me walk from Icmeler to Marmaris, then to this particular Resturant as he said it had good reviews.. it was a 1hr 30 min walk. But so worth it! The staff were just so friendly and easy going, I’m currently breast feeding my 3 month old and (I guess the manager? wears a black open shirt, ear pierced, has two kids) didn’t treat me as if I had the plague.. he made conversation and openly addressed my breastfeeding and his partners experiences - so refreshing! The food was quick and so fresh and tasty, it was so clean and comfy. Really modern but cool interior and the experience was just so good. We came here for lunch and cocktails and it didn’t disappoint. Andy the owner was so welcoming as well as the other servers. We had the beef quesadillas as well as Greek salad and both were delicious. The salad dressing was out of this world, so much so we asked for some to take with us, which they very kindly obliged. We came back the following day for cocktails and later that evening enjoyed a meal on the rooftop balcony.
