First impression on entry to the hotel was disappointing. The reception area was dull and brown. The receptionists were quiet, Russian ladies and never spoke other than to hand over our key & paperwork. The hotel was full of mainly Russians & Turkish guests. The room to be fair was ok. The air conditioning was very effective but noisy. Nice, clean wash area but no shower just a shower in the bath. Our balcony was tiny but as it was too hot to sit out there we didn’t mind. The double bed was comfortable and the pillows weren’t too bad. The food was average. I just stuck to rice and chicken/beef & salad as I’m not very adventurous when it comes to unrecognisable food ‘stuffs’ swimming in mayo or sauces. None of us tried any of the desserts so we can’t comment. The kids struggled only eating pancakes, chips and pizzas. There wasn’t much else for the great British palate. The cakes at 4pm were a mixture of odd and dry. The bar was ok and the barman seemed friendly enough. We tried a few beers, some cocktails and plenty of soft drinks. Drinks were served in glasses!! Not a good idea for around the pool as they were always getting smashed. We ate out quite a bit especially at the Greasy Spoon (a full English breakfast which was delicious). We did purchase snorkels for the kids from the onsite shop and we also bought crisps and drinks which were reasonably priced and the lady there was lovely and friendly. After 3 nights we moved to the TUI hotel down the road. All in all Marmaris was a nice place. A busy, bustling resort with a lovely waterfront, harbour, warm sea to swim in, with plenty of cafes, shops and all day water sports (not cheap though!) Marmaris wasn’t cheap full stop and definitely more expensive than other places we’ve visited in Turkey. We booked a pirate ship excursion for the kids which was fun. The centre and harbour was a short bus ride away or a very long walk but worth a visit with plenty going on. We liked Marmaris as it suited our needs; offering a mixture of water adventures, shopping, eating, drinking and entertainment especially on the Strip in the evenings with all the singers, dancers, drag acts & tribute acts. There were plenty of food stalls selling waffles & ice creams etc. There were lots of restaurants offering steaks, kebabs and seafood on the front too. The supermarkets around the hotel were good value. The chocolate milk was an essential must-have for us as were bags of Doritos. We would definitely return to Marmaris but unfortunately not...

Read moreI had a deeply disappointing and uncomfortable experience at the Prestige Garden Hotel spa in Marmaris. As someone who’s had numerous massages before, I was shocked at the unprofessionalism here. The massage therapist, Ozzy, behaved in a way that made me feel uneasy right from the start. He and another staff member kept whispering during the session, which was both distracting and unprofessional. At one point, Ozzy even left the room mid-massage to speak with someone, leaving me waiting on the massage table. When I expressed my discomfort and asked for a refund, he stormed off and refused to continue the massage.
Additionally, the massage itself was poorly executed. My friend, who was with me, specifically requested not to have her face massaged, yet the staff ignored her request and did it anyway. We both left feeling more aches than relief.
When I tried to resolve the situation at the front desk, the staff was dismissive and rude, refusing to take any responsibility. They claimed that Ozzy was his own boss and that they couldn’t do anything about it, showing zero empathy or concern for our experience as tourists. Overall, I felt unwelcome and disrespected, and I would caution other travelers to avoid this spa. There are many other options in Marmaris where customer care and professionalism are taken seriously—sadly, this was...
