If you are an elite member I advise you go to a different hotel. They do not honor your upgrade. They will tell you hotel full to avoid upgrading you. I was told at least 3x tomorrow there are checkouts and we will move you to suite which was one level above my King Seaview. It was never honored. I changed rooms twice because a musty smell lingered in the rooms they moved me to . They had someone come spray and stated it was because the room’s air wasn’t on for a while, but if every day you are fully booked how is it this room and the other suddenly never were used??. Went out for the day after being moved and left air on because it takes 4-5 hours for the room to cool off. Someone turned the air off and it was 83 degrees when I arrived back. I slept in a hot room from Saturday August 23rd - Tuesday August 26th . So now room stinks and it’s hot. Completely ruined my birthday 8/24. I just wanted some peace and got nothing but irritation. My anxiety kicked in on my last day and I just had to leave and go somewhere else. As I waited in lobby for my driver I 1st waited in line for checkout and did not get assistance so I checked out on my phone. Didn’t say any issues. While in lobby no one said anything. My driver finally comes and they chase me out the door for payment for 3 breakfast days. Mind you I reported the stink room and heat so technically in a customer service mindset they should have just covered it, but other than that why not tell me during the 15-20 mins you see me with my bags in lobby that there was an issue with card on file. They literally waited after the 20 min mark when my driver arrives to chase me out the door while my bags are being loaded. I was pissed yelling why did you say nothing the entire time I was standing there. I’m now trying to get to an appointment and you now want to address the checkout . I gave my Platinum AMEX in disgust ( which cleared immediately by the way) and told them please leave my car . The only thing good about this place was the breakfast and the swim area below the cliff. You can’t see the views from the room because the windows were filthy so all you can see is stains. I stayed in room 410 ( stink) , 1009 ( stink and hot) , then 1110 ( hot room). I’m slowly losing faith in the Marriott brand. It seems like they sell/ franchise these hotels to owners that don’t keep room up to date not the so called Marriott standard. My final room didn’t even have the shower corner basket in it so I had to get out of shower and grab my facial cleansers and other items every time from the sink. When I reported they stated there were no shower baskets in any of the rooms yet I literally had one in 410 the stinky room and made them go to the room and see for themselves to prove it. No apology for the very clear lie that no rooms had it. Also there is not any drawers to utilize for space for your clothing so if it’s folded you must get creative with where you place it, very small closet, small nightstands, no microwave, no outside food allowed while the food at hotel is overpriced, the fridge barely gets cold and I mean absolutely barely. I had a water in there for 2 days and it was slightly above lukewarm warm when I removed it. I’m just so extremely disappointed in this property. I really thought it would be nice. I have the branded Chase Marriott Visa card and I literally own Marriott stock as a shareholder and an elite member so the level of service and accommodations has me ready to sell my stocks, cancel my card, and transfer my remaining points. It’s like since the pandemic service has declined. I know hospitality took a hit but dammit I still was traveling, investing, tipping, etc etc The brand has allowed their franchisers to take shortcuts and...
Read moreWe stayed at the Delta Marriott in Antalya and were really impressed by the setting. The hotel is in a stunning location with a gorgeous beach decking and a very inviting pool area – both are definite highlights and exactly what you’d hope for in a holiday by the sea. It’s the kind of place where you can really relax and enjoy the views.||That said, there were a few areas where the experience fell short of what we expected from a Marriott property. Our original room had a noticeable smell of smoke, to the point it woke us up in the night, but the team helped us move, which we appreciated. The hotel does have smoking rooms but we couldn’t seem to work out if they had allocated rooms or allocated floors as mostly all the rooms smell of smoke which really takes a way from the rooms, as the rooms themselves are cosy and the bed very comfy. The large TV in the room is a bonus however there is only a handful English channels and no Netflix app which was slightly strange considering most hotels now offer this.||Housekeeping, however, was a little inconsistent – for example, our coffee mugs weren’t changed during the entire week. We also had to request more coffee sachets in the rooms. The rooms themselves are also quite noisy, with very thin walls, though I will say that when I called reception at 2am about loud neighbours, the situation was dealt with promptly and professionally.||Collecting pool towels also felt unnecessarily complicated, as they are only available from the spa on a lower floor rather than near the pool or beach. ||Some of the hotel rules felt overly restrictive and made things less relaxing. Guests aren’t allowed to bring in outside food or drinks (even bottled water), which wouldn’t be as much of an issue if the on-site prices weren’t so much higher than the local area. They state this is due to hygiene rules but I’ve never been to a hotel where you have not been allowed to even bring a bottle of water in! We’ve stayed in Marriott’s in New York and even had the concierge bring our outside food delivery order up to our rooms so do not believe it’s a ‘hygiene rule’ but more of a ‘business rule’💸||We were also disappointed to learn that once you’ve checked out, you can’t continue to use the facilities if you have a late flight, considering we have been to many destinations around the world and stayed in all inclusive resorts where you could even enjoy the food and drink until you are actually picked up rather than the based on checkout time. It just made the last day less comfortable than it could have been and left us feeling a bit unwelcome on our last day.||There were a couple of other small negatives, such as an occasional sewage smell in the foyer, but overall the main feeling was that the hotel is beautifully located yet overly complicated with rules and procedures that take away from the relaxation you’d expect on holiday.||With some improvements – particularly around guest comfort and simplifying processes – this hotel could really shine. The setting is wonderful, and the pool and beach areas are a real highlight, but we felt it didn’t quite live up to the Marriott standard we’ve experienced elsewhere.||In short: the views, pool, and beach are fantastic, but the hotel itself was a real disappointment. We left feeling that we wouldn’t return, which is a shame because the setting has so...
Read moreEdit August 7 Adding a star for rooms and another one for the overall score since we showed the bathroom to 11th floor housekeeping and and they've fixed all the issues, thank you to whoever it was (forgot her name, but praise her because she's always greeting us with a smile, unlike the others downstairs). Please note though ; the room should have been like this from day one!
The Delta by Marriott... yes, 'by MARRIOTT', a brand that encapsulates luxury, perfect service and guests at its center... what a disappointment that one is.
The good Clearly, its location, swimming pool and sea access via an elevator. Breathtaking.
The breakfast buffet is a feast for the eyes and the mouth. Varied, diverse and a little different every day.
The bad Our room (see pictures). There's black mould on the silicon joints in our bathroom (and that's AFTER housekeeping cleaned our room), a water leakage of the faucet, a cracked tile and leftover dust on the room floor (again, after housekeeping cleaned our room).
The staff has (for the most part) no empathy or sense of true service. Most times it seems we're bothering them. Some are excellent but extremely rare.
There's a subtle, lingering sewer smell in the lobby and breakfast area, which the hotel is trying to mask with fragrance sprays. After a few days it started to bother my appetite.
The really bad I got stuck on the elevator today, for more than 25 minutes. Sounding the alarm didn't do anything. Tried to call the reception but got "out of service" automated replies. I had to call my daughter, who was at the beach, to run up and tell reception of my predicament. I eventually got out thanks to a technician, but was expecting at least a few staff members waiting for me to check whether I was alright ; none of that, only other guests fuming because they had to wait to get in.
Then no later than tonight, we experienced 4 power outages in our room. I called reception, who said it was a building-wide technical problem, without even apologizing.
Room for improvement Closing that magnificent beach platform at 7pm is ridiculous. Most guests wish to stay without a closing time pressure and enjoy a sunset.
The poor staff doesn't know who orders what on your application. I forgot how many times I saw them wandering around with a tray, not knowing who ordered the drinks. A simple flag solution on the little side tables would sort it out (you order, put the flag up!).
The TV in the room is really big and nice; too bad it's completely bricked in demo mode. You can't adjust settings and can't connect a headset. Also, there's only YouTube and not Netflix. In 2025 so it's a weird decision.
I sound bitter, but this is because this is a "by Marriott" branded hotel and not some third zone 2 or 3 stars hotel we're talking about. The state of our bathroom is unacceptable by ANY standards and not just in a Marriott hotel.
This gives me the unpleasant feeling the management is surfing on the Marriott brand but taking severe shortcuts when it comes to staff training and building maintenance.
I'm still staying in room 1116 and 1117 until Friday morning if you wish to say something to me.
Thank you...
