Our stay at West Bay club was a 3/5 stars for the following reasons: Cons: 1.No security at gate 2.Staff wasn’t good at greeting us except for arrival and breakfast 3.Staff was always on their phones 4.Other than laying our towel on beach/pool chair no one came by to ask if we needed anything or wanted a drink or food from beach bar/grill. 5.Poor snorkeling equipment (so bring your own unless you want to be extremely disappointed). 6.No room upgrade despite asking given they were only at about 25-35% capacity. (I’ll mention the importance of this down below) We never ate lunch or dinner at the club so I cant speak to that however we did try dessert which was extremely expensive compared to much higher quality next door (Paid $15 for 1 scoop of ice cream, I’ll explain this further down below too). Pros: 1.Complementary non insulated water bottles and hotel bag (Wymara’s was WAY NICER from what we saw and didnt smell) 2.Great room maid service 3.Double entry doorway to our room (basically door into a shared foyer with another entry into a separate room to left and one to right) 4.On the Beach which also has a shower rinse off station 5.Nice soaking pool (5ft deep give or take) 6.Delicious complimentary breakfast (Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potato wedges, pancakes/French toast, grits, fruit, baked goods, and breads of all kinds). If you’re reading this and wondering a couple things mentioned above I would like to go into detail a little further. Upon planning our vacation, we were between West Bay Club and Wymara right next door (which you can walk to from the beach
Read moreFrom the moment we walked into West Bay Club and were warmly greeted by Giovanni we felt the stress melt away as we sipped our complimentary rum punch! I was so pleased with the Grace Bay resorts service and property from|The beginning. |The Good: |The property is beautifully landscaped with quiet little nooks to relax and rejuvenate. Every part of it was clean and well taken care of. I never saw a mess of towels or unkept pool or beach chairs or any trash as everything was promptly cleaned. The pool and beach attendants do a phenomenal job. |The room (201) we received was super clean, beautifully decorated and had a lovely view of the ocean to wake up to. The room had every convenience and amenity we needed. Full service kitchen, with all major appliances and washer dryer included. |Bathrooms large and well appointed. Luxury L’Occitane bath products. Bath robes provided. There was also a safe. Water pressure was excellent and so was the AC which you can control. Housekeeping everyday. |We were very touched by the welcome note for our anniversary and wonderful souvenir water bottles ( that can be filled with cold water on the property) and the beach bag per room which we were all fighting over. The little details go a long way in being made to feel welcome. There were always 4 complimentary still water cans in the fridge as well to be had. |We were so comfortable in the plush beds which were nicely made up with high quality bedding. |This room was very convenient to the parking lot , pool, beach and breakfast all within minutes away. |The hearty morning breakfast is plentiful with eggs made to order, cold and hot items, fresh made lattes and pastries - we wanted for nothing and this held us over till late lunch. The food was tasty and served in a clean indoor space often monitored by staff refilling and cleaning. I appreciated small lemons being burned in a candle holder contraption. to ward off flies. |The breakfast tables are set up around the trees near the pool which is pretty. |The beach area is just breathtaking and it is definitely quieter than grace bay beach proper but the water is just the same. |Beach attendant Chris is friendly super efficient and has a hard job in the hot sun , managing the beach area very well. |Drinks on the beach were made very well with a good amount of alcohol by a friendly cute Phillipino girl( sorry i didn’t get the name!) there is a beachside cafe for lunch. Pricing is very reasonable and therefore we made use of it more. |The pool is not huge but very pretty with lush trees surrounding and pretty white loungers. It is open till 10 pm - a very generous time. |Parking is gated and very safe with a code to get into. The property felt very safe even at night. |EVERY member of the staff even in passing was polite and courteous and genuinely all asked if we were ok and having a good time, even the housekeeping staff. That shows great customer service training on every level. |There are lifts to the higher levels. |The attention to details and the amazing staff is where West Bay stands out among others. It is an aesthetically pleasing, relaxing quiet hotel that we would love to come back to. It did feel like Luxury. |The location is further away from|The crowds and you feel you have this world famous beach all to yourself at West Bay Club. The Wymara is next door and honestly the feel of WBC is much better, but visiting the pink bar or having meals there is an option. |There are complimentary bikes and non motorized beach equipment. ||The mediocre ( nitpicking here!)|The property could do with more lighting at night on the path to the beach. |More seating at the lobby area|And perhaps a little bit more mosquito control. |We would like to Thank Giovanni, Roshana, Chris at the beach, pool attendant, and delightful bar girl on the beach for making our stay...
Read moreI’m a champagne experience with beer pricing kind of traveler. I like affordable luxury. West Bay club hit the mark for my husband and I for a long 4 night weekend in early Sept. it was our first time traveling to Turks and Caicos’s. It’s off-season which we did not realize so a lot of the restaurants that are talked about on TA that I read prior to staying here are closed this time of year. Didn’t really matter to us. Upon arriving at this small boutique luxury property, we were kindly greeted with a delicious rum punch and given cute aluminum water bottles with caps that we can fill up at water stations throughout the property. Our efficiency king suite priced at about $300 a night was quite lovely with two small partial ocean and partial pool balcony views that was surprising because I expected no view with booking the lowest room rate. Suite was quite large with small Efficiency kitchen with fridge , toaster, coffee maker and microwave and include free teabags , coffee and canned water s. We chose to rent a small car for $250. A little tricky driving on the left side, but we went slow. Grocery store very closeby and we bought a few snacks, sodas, wine and vodka to avoid paying the $20 priced pool drinks. The pool area with fountain was peaceful, relaxing, and uncrowded with comfortable towel covered wood chaise longer under umbrellas and a couple of foam pool loungers that you could float on. The white soft sand beach and turquoise blue ocean water on Grace Bay was easily accessible with same nice pool chase loungers and an attendant easily available to help set you up all for free of charge but tipping appreciated. It was quite hot this time of year. A snorkeling trail is about a 10 minute walk to the right and snorkeling equipment for free can be obtained from the beach attendant. We are divers and thought the snorkeling was nice. Lots of pretty fish. My husband saw a small turtle. I’ve been on dives that are about as good. Nothing huge in terms of snorkeling but I’ve heard people see they saw stingrays and nurse sharks. We drove around the island a little bit and visited the remote Taylor Beach one afternoon. Didn’t stay very long, but it was pretty to see the beach and drive around the island. Very similar to other Caribbean islands in that regards. ||Other than a couple restaurants close by and the grocery store, a car is really needed. The downtown area is too far away, but really there was not much going on downtown this time of year and many things were closed. |A good plentiful breakfast was available every morning, including made to order omelettes, breakfast meats, bread, fresh, orange juice, and coffee pretty |On-site restaurant available. Had the Margherita pizza for $20 one night and it was quite good. Went to the fish fry one evening on Thursday. As others have said, maybe something to see once. Food was average but pricey. Honestly, we were having trouble finding an easy cheaper place to eat our first day and many things were closed due to off-season We have not yet had a really nice meal out yet but we are going to the Marine room tonight. We splurged on an in room mobile massage. 60 minutes for $100. We didn’t use the hotels recommendation we just googled and booked online. It was lovely |I would come back again for a long, relaxing weekend if the price was right like I...
