This was actually the worst Marriott experience I have ever had. I would not recommend this to anyone. I always stay with Marriott however this time I was very disappointed with everything during my stay. I will elaborate on all the points: Point 1: We initially planned to stay for 4 nights but then we needed to extend our stay and I called to ask whether we can at 12pm the day before check out so I can get enough time to look for something else if the room is not available. I was transferred to the hotel reception where I was told they will confirm and get back to me ASAP. After 6pm I still did not hear anything so called again but they kept on saying to me they will get back to me where I told them I need confirmation now as I don’t have a place to stay the next day if they say no. I was clearly worried as I had my family with me (my wife and 8 month old baby). Everytime I called I would never get an answer and the time came to be 11pm where I got very frustrated. At this time I looked at the Marriott App and I could see it was available however the hotel reception would not confirm this to me. I booked it eventually through the Marriott App as I could not wait for any longer as I been waiting for like 11 hours. I then phoned the hotel reception and told them I have just booked a room through the app and if they can just combine my stay so I don’t need to leave the room I was already in which they did. After all this, the lady I have been waiting for 11 hours called my room and she had the cheek to say to me on the phone that I see you made the booking next day and she just completely forgot about it and forgot to do anything about it. This in my view, is very unprofessional and it really angered me. Because of you forgetting I would have had no where to stay the next day if I did not check the Marriott App and kept on waiting and following up for her response. This has really disappointed me on how I was treated and I would not expect this from a brand like Marriott. Point 2: The App shows various restaurants in the hotel however it seems there is only 2 and they are where we have breakfast in the morning and the other is the Japanese restaurant. Everytime I ask about the other restaurant no one has any information. There is very limited food choice for someone that is vegetarian in the menu for room service and the Japanese restaurant. Point 3: Baby Seats seems like its never been cleaned everytime we used it we had to clean...
Read moreI had a stay at the hotel and apartments for my first visit to Dubai. This was apart of a travel group and this was our hotel. Our flight got changed and we ended up having to stay 2 days over our first reservation and I also booked the 1 bedroom apartment for 2 days.
The hotel is about 5-10 minutes from Downtown Dubai and has shuttle service to Dubai Mall, Ker Beach and other attractions around the area. The only drawback is the shuttle does not run like every hour which I would hope they could change in the future.
The lobby area is very open and inviting and the double staircase is great for taking selfies and group photos.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Always have a smile in their voice because of covid they were wearing masks.
The restaurants at the hotel are of good quality and variety.
The roof top bar, The 8th Floor is amazing! We spent most of our nights up there having drinks and a hookah. The pool is beautiful and has an amazing view of Downtown and the Burj Khalfia.
The staff at the rooftop bar were really nice and they worked well with our large group (15-20 ) every night. We shut it down every night at 3:30am. LOL
The entrance is a little hard to find and I think better sinage would be helpful.
The drink and food menu at The 8th Floor was good as well as the hookah selection.
My first room was a double bed single room and it was beautiful. Suken tub and walk in shower was great. The area with the toliet was kinda tight because they had a glass wall really close to the toliet to give privacy. That would be my only negative about the room. The room has a large closet, Nice big flat screen tv, plenty of storage space and a mini fridge. Coffee/tea maker. It also has a iron with a full size ironing board in the room.
The one bedroom apartment was just that! It had a separate living area with a nice table, huge cough and nice lounge chair. Big flat screen tv in both the living room and bedroom which had a king size bed.
They had a powder room and the full bath was in the bedroom.
Full size kitchen with fridge, and everything needed to cook with. Full size dishwasher and a combo washer and dryer (what!!!!!)
The apartments are in a separate tower than the regular rooms and they have amazing views from the living and bedrooms.
I am planning another trip back next year and will be staying in...
Read moreWe stayed at this property for three nights after staying 5 nights downtown. It’s definitely in a more quiet area and is surrounded by a decent amount of construction, but still close enough to the city center, mall, and attractions. They offer a shuttle (times are rather limited) that will take you to the mall and airport, which helps.
The hotel is a sizable, full service property - a little dated as far as decor and furnishings, but otherwise very nice. I am a Platinum member so I was able to receive access to the executive lounge for breakfast and cocktail hour. The meals here were very well put together and the staff who served us were all excellent. Special shoutout to Renique, one of the chefs who made sure we were well looked after in the lounge. She was very warm and friendly to us. The Food there was served hot, fresh and very delicious. Making use of this provision did very much to enhance our stay. Thank you Cham as well for making us feel welcome and ensuring we had everything we needed.
Our suite was quite large and ample enough for two adults to share and still have their own space. Housekeeping was thorough and attentive. The sundries shop in the lobby was super convenient and made it so we did not have to leave the hotel (to buy miscellaneous items like a phone charger and toothpaste).
Pool and fitness area were clean and well kept. They also have a spa, but we did not have the opportunity to book a service here.
Everyone we encountered from Concierge to Reception staff was courteous and always eager to help us. I would definitely recommend this property to those who does not need or want the extreme bustle of downtown, but still prefer nice accommodations where one will be well looked after.
My only complaint (which is admittedly nitpicky) is that there was only one USB port in the room. We could’ve used one more to help with charging multiple devices, but this is a first world problem that we adapted to easily enough. The other thing is that our keys stopped working each day (sometimes multiple times per day) which necessitated a trip to the front desk each time for reprogramming. Very aggravating, but not much could be done about it.
Other than that, we wholeheartedly thank Marriott Al Jadaf for all they did to make our stay...
