We arrived at the hotel just before 3pm after a long tiring journey. When we tried to check in we were told we would be charged £10 to check in early (it was 14:51 and check in is from 15:00) - about £1.11 per minute. So we went outside and waited.
We came back in a 3pm and checked in - a queue quickly built up but there was only one person checking guests in. Another member of staff was sitting behind the counter at the other check in desk, but when someone asked if they could check in she told them to wait as she was doing something else.
The room itself was pleasant and we dropped our bags off and headed off to where we were going. We got back after midnight and wanted a soak in the bath. I had to clean the bath before I could use it as it was full of hair. After I had my bath, I noticed that there were no towels for my wife - we had only been provided with 1 towel, so I had to get dressed and go to reception to ask for more.
The bed was very comfortable and we did have a good night's sleep.
The next morning we went to breakfast. Outside the Beefeater, the outdoor tables were covered in glasses and bottles from the night before and the ground was covered in discarded food and wrappers.
Inside the restaurant there appeared to be two members of staff at front of house. Some items were missing from the breakfast selection on the menu - no yogurts for example. There were also no glasses for juice and very few mugs for coffee and tea - and several of those that were available were dirty. The coffee machine also was flashing for attention and was not dispensing drinks.
When our food arrived, I noticed the fork I had been given was dirty so I had to find a replacement off another table as no-one was around.
Although we had a good night's sleep, this Premier Inn is tired looking and service was not up to Premier Inn's usual...
Read moreWe booked 2 rooms at the East Mayne hotel. One room was for a friend with limited mobility and very poor vision. I realise that the reasons for the closure of the Beefeater were somewhat out of their control, but the late notification was not good.|Having contacted the Customer Care centre to see if they could relocate us to another inn in the area, my experience with this department left me with a bad taste in my mouth. They may be good at taking bookings and payments, but when they had to try and resolve customer issues they fell dramatically short. When I rang and eventually got to speak to someone, with a view to being relocated, the agent couldn't help, and said they'd get their manager to contact me in 30 minutes. Needless to say I didn't receive a call so I called again, and spoke to a different agent who also promised to get their manager to call me. Surprise surprise they didn't call either. So reluctantly I had to accept that for our stay, we would have to get in the car in the evening and morning and travel about 4 miles to another Premier Inn which had a Beefeater which was open. I don't know the area yet was left to sort this myself.|Not ideal at all for our disabled friend.|Shocking customer service.|On a positive note, the staff at the East Mayne hotel were very helpful, and although the rooms in my opinion are a little tired they were clean and the bed was very comfortable. The Beefeater staff were also very good and looked after us during evening meal and breakfast, so a big thank you to the hotel and...

2nd Day on the row... Arriving around 9am for breakfast. Breakfast counter is dirty Coffee is just about warm with adding cold milk to it totally unenjoyable No clean teaspoons and when I asked for one I was given two dirty from the draw what I returned. No fresh pastries and they only topped up at 9.45. No plates available for. Frozen berries served (rather don't do it) No warm milk available Both breakfast time the restaurant was not busy. I work myself in a hospitalit industry as well as a general manager and I found your service extremely disappointing.
When we arrived we tried to have dinner at the same place. I had a small rice with me for my 18month old baby. I have been told as per your H&S policy you can not warm it up but she can eat anything from the restaurant (Beafeater) menu... let me be clear she can not eat grilled beef neither grilled chicken... menu is not suitable for an 18 month. When been offered a table with a wobly leg AND TOP so not sure where is your H&S policy there. Asked to change the table and as 10 min later nothing happened we left. Utterly disappointing again!! You made a deal with this restaurant and they a total disgrace... Being family friendly you do not offer any baby food heating facility, customer microwave where I can heat up my little meal. I have to go to a near by cafe in Pitsea where they happy to let me use their microwave (located in the eatery for public use) ... i can bearly find words to discribe my...
