Updated as it got worse.
If I could I’d give no stars. This is the worse night in a hotel I’ve ever had. Even worse than a hostel. Feels like I’ve been in a war zone.
On check in the new lady (first day) on reception desk said my room number loud enough that everyone in the area could hear.
We booked 2 rooms, one for my wife and myself and one for my daughter and her boyfriend as a birthday treat.
For a disabled room, the bed is tiny, the 2nd room for daughter has decent size bed, but tiny tv, the TV’s only have a few working tv channels, no BBC from what we could tell.
Room 1 uses a real key to open door, not a key card and they said they only had one copy so not to lose it, which limits being able to go out on your own, in case the person with the key is not the first one back and then when both my daughter and her boyfriend both left her room when she got scared as someone in the office fell over into their bedroom wall, she came to see us, and then into reception, he wanted to check she was ok and went to find her, but neither took the key and they got locked out, turned out they did have another key, thankfully, but not that we could use. Do not under any circumstance accept room 2 unless you are completely deaf as the main staircase for the hotel is attached to the head board of the bed.
All night, almost every hour on the hour people and suitcases came bouncing down. At 1030 it was so bad, my phone fell off the bedside table. When I went to complain all I got from the manager was it’s probably that kids get excited as they are on holiday. I said room 2 is for disabled people and some including us, have pain that makes it hard to sleep anyway, on top of that the constant bang bang bang from suit cases being bounced down the stairs and kids screaming about leaving and then has kept us up.
She said she too has a disability, but couldn’t have cared less that we...
Read moreBreakfast- really a joke. Juices in cartons - like messy way put randomly on a table, 80% of them empty - staff not throwing away empty boxes, breakfast team not replaning the continental tables. No glasses available, if they were- you had a 50% chance to get the dirty one. Coffee - the same like in your room, not tasty Kenco one, when I noticed a proper coffee machine behind the counter beeing used, asked if we can get cappuccino, the manager or whoever was there just lied in my face and said that coffee machine (just been used by her and another member of staff) is not working!! Breakfast itself OK- black pudding really dry, just left it. The whole experience with this premier inn was destroyed by lying to my face by the lady in mini skirt and with shirt with vertical black and white stripes... Reception - apparently printer broken so we couldn't get our receipt. The printer was "broken" for 2 days. Or the receptionist didn't know how to use it. When we checked out and I asked for receipt- there was no issue with the printer. Room was nice and tidy. There is no meal deal at this premier inn and we were wondering why? When we went to Green King/Hungry Horse/Airbaloon (where is the breakfast located - the place comes with 3 names?-sic!) wanted to order a dinner and asked about discount we had with premier inn but unfortunately they said no. Anyway, ordered two steaks, when we received them, one was done amazing, but the other one was very cold, chewy, when told this to the one staff member (a guy, don't remeber his name) we was happy to replace whole plate for me, didn't expected that, I thought they will just re-heat the plate, but no - I received a new steak, perfect temp, it was amazing - so actually wanted to thank the evening team at that restaurant for all service....
Read moreStayed here last week. An excellent Premier Inn - infact possibly the best (or most underrated) of them in Blackpool:
It was very small and quiet in a good way. Little noise overnight: the airport is barely operational (it only seems to do daytime leisure flights in small biplanes) so no loud nightime air traffic at all. Cleanliness also really good - bed spotless, with just a little bit of (very excusable) dust on the skirting boards.
The hotel is also really close to public transport links to Blackpool and beyond. The tram terminus at Starr Gate is not far at all - just ten minutes west down the main road. If that is too far, there is also bus stop on the opposite side of the road (on Lytham Road). This means it's a really good hotel if you wanted peace and quiet from Blackpool town centre at night - but easily able to get into town and back during the day, even if without a car.
There is also a Lidl next door and a retail park further down the road if you need to buy any emergency supplies etc.
The only issue during the stay was with the breakfast next door. On one day, there was less options (e.g. the red berry mix wasn't available), and there was no instant coffee which meant I had to spend more money to buy coffee once in Blackpool town centre. So it was not the best food offering - but aside those issues the food itself was not bad as other reviews made me think, especially the cooked items.
Altogether a great Premier Inn, which I would definitely consider if staying in...
