Stayed here for 2 nights with my grandmother, mother and my 9 month old baby. On arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff members and was checked in slightly early and advised where the lift was to our rooms as I had a pram in tow with suitcases. ||We were not advised the lift was on the opposite side to our rooms and it felt barely bigger than a postage stamp. Could only just squeeze the pram and myself in. No bags. They had to go up on a seperate run. We managed, old hotel. What do you expect.. Tiny corridors followed through a maze of rooms. My grandmother has difficulty walking far so this was extremely inconvenient.||Once we eventually found our room we noticed another lift that was out of order right outside our rooms. Very disappointed this didn't seem to have any progress on fixing. There was a single flight of stairs also outside our rooms so we continued to use these and had to carry the pram up each time we returned. ||Rooms were lovely and spacious. HOWEVER||We requested a travel cot for my baby but was provided with what only I can describe as a concrete slab. Was a typical travel cot however the mattress part was not adequate to sleep on for a baby. Rock hard. Luckily we brought our own in case of emergency. ||We booked a table for 7pm for dinner, as could not book earlier due to coach parties... we were seated at 7 and I swiftly ordered my baby's food at around 7.15 whilst we decided on our own so she could have hers cooling down and start eating first. We then ordered our mains shortly after. Over 30 minutes later, my daughters meal was nowhere to be seen yet all coach parties were being looked after at full speed. It appears full paying guests were not a priority in the slightest, especially because I expressed the situation with my baby. The waiting staff also confirmed that the coach parties with set menus were being sorted first. |My baby's meal came out 10 minutes after complaining and ours 5 minutes following this. ||40 minutes for a kids sausage mash and beans is unacceptable and I was extremely upset as my daughter was becoming irritable. AND it came out near to ours at almost molten temperature! ||Would not stay here again and would not recommend anyone else to unless you are part of a coach party and then you...
ย ย ย Read moreStayed at The Carousel this weekend. My husband and I stayed in a double Seaview room and my daughter, son in law and grandson stayed in a family room. Booking was a little confusing. We booked over the telephone as we have stayed many times. Lisa took the booking and even though tried really hard had to ring back 3 times to get booking right. Lisa had only just started before lockdown so still new to the hotel. Check in very easy. Parking is ยฃ8 for 24 hours or you can park on the front if you can find a space. The tram stop is just across the road. The rooms were very clean. We stayed in 203 & 202 which were directly opposite each other which was perfect for our families as we could prop doors open and our grandson could go between the 2 rooms. Facilities good. Only complaint bed very uncomfortable. Our daughter and son in law had a meal in the evening which they said was brilliant. Breakfast you now have to book a time slot and your breakfast is served to you. Brilliant breakfast. We were served by Mel as was our daughter the evening before who is a total asset to The Carousel. Brilliant service and really helpful and friendly. Everything was perfect. One small comment is that when I was at reception once I could hear staff in the back having a conversation which included many swear words. I could tell the receptionist was embarrassed as was I. All in all. Very good hotel. I will stay again as it is one of the best in Blackpool. I felt very safe here in regards to Covid. Well done Carousel. Keep up...
ย ย ย Read more1 star way too much for this hotel but the lowest I could go. This has to be the worst hotel I've stayed in. Firstly we ordered room service which has 3 main items on the menu, pizza sandwiches or baked potato after an hour of placing order I phoned reception to find out how long it was going to take to be told they had ran out of pizza and potatoes and I could get a sandwich or a phone number for a takeaway. Then your kept up most of the night as it's the noisiest place I've stayed in adult shouting kids screaming running up and down stairs doors banging there's no one stopping them even better anyone can get up the stairs as it's not got any security to keep doors locked. The next night was even better I went to bed at 23:00 as we were up early as we couldn't sleep from the noise the previous night only to get a phone call from reception at 12:30 to tell me I couldn't get a room wrong number I explained and thanks for waking me only to put phone down for it to ring immediately the same guy with the same question now if it was a room close to my room number I could of forgot it but I was 119 he was meant to phone 130 not even close. The flat screen LCD is there but it's the size of a postage stamp and the food I've seen other reviews that say the food is amazing well I'm sorry you will end up getting sick as we turned up the first morning for breakfast and its only cooked on one side, I still feel ill now so good luck if you book here I will never be back to this or any sleep well ( that's a joke)...
