Possibly one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. How this place has an average of 4.2 stars is beyond me. to start off with we were met with the worst waiter I have ever experienced. complete lack of knowledge of the menu. we were a big group of 12 people and kindly asked if there was an option to have a sharing platter/mixed grill to share for starters. the waiter was completely dumbfounded at the thought of this and went back and forth several times to the "head chef" to check this. Then we were served completely flat soft drinks (tasted as if they were watered down). the mains were served after 45 minutes which was not the issue. when we asked how much longer the remaining 2 steaks would be, the "head chef" shook his head in utter shock and said they forgot and haven't started them yet. We asked the curries to be madras hot and they came looking like a lentil soup and also tasted as bland as that. we were also told repeatedly throughout our dining experience to be quick with ordering and order everything as they are soon going to be fully booked (I find it hard to understand how) and that if we wanted to order/alter something after, we would have to wait a long time. Avoid this "restaurant" if you are looking for a family friendly place to eat. Pepes is only a 5 minute drive from here :) Edit: the photo below was my father's reaction to the experience of this restaurant

Quite simply one of the best Indian restaurants we've ever been to - and to be honest we found it completely by accident. After a day at the beach we went looking for a chip shop and found one on this street, but when we saw an Indian buffet a couple of doors further up the street we decided to treat ourselves. And we're glad we did. The food was absolutely superb - served quickly, freshly-cooked, and hot, and tasted amazing. We went for the "mixed starter", assuming that would be just a small plate each, but it came on a big platter and was superb, especially the bhajis and chicken tikka pakoras. Then our main courses - again, very generous portions for a buffet, and soooooo tasty. Ice cream for dessert, and even that was much better than the standard Indian restaurant ice cream. Add to the food very welcoming, polite and attentive - but not too intrusive - staff, a very pleasant and friendly Manager and you have a real treat. Marked down by one point for the non-Indian music (just adds to the atmosphere) and the lack of parking nearby; no parking outside, so you have to go hunting for a parking space around the nearby estates. We'll definitely be back.

We had an absolutely brilliant evening at Zest of India! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and genuine smiles. The staff were incredibly attentive without being overbearing, and they made sure we were comfortable and well looked after throughout our visit. Now onto the food — simply outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavour, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. Whether you're a fan of traditional classics or looking to try something new, the menu has something for everyone. The spices were spot-on, and you could really taste the freshness in every bite. Watch out for the Chilli's... Wow Hot!!!!! The restaurant itself has a lovely, welcoming atmosphere — perfect for a relaxing meal with friends or family. We couldn’t fault a single thing. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both top-tier food and genuinely great service — Zest of India nails both. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!

Had ordered the food on Uber eats, called the restaurant as there was a delay in the food being delivered, but the person who picked up the phone said there was no order under my name...A few minutes later the food arrived and I called the restaurant to check if there was any order in the evening on Uber eats under my name again and she said no ,but sometimes the order doesn't pop up,I said there was a bill from the zest of India and she asked if all the items were there, and when I said yes she said it's probably from their shop.

The quality of food was horrible ,the shahi chicken was sweet, you can clearly see there was definitely added colour and sweetener in it rather than the almond/cashew paste... The naan was dry and hard... Same with the prawns, had so much artificial colouring to it...

Really wondered if it was a scam place that delivered the food or was it really from Zest of India as the reviews on Google was really good.. Had to leave the food and order from another place.... Only saving grace was the dhal...no Indian place can go wrong with Dhal

As you can tell you have replied without reading the message.

I called the restaurant and asked when my order would come as Uber had no tracking.

The receptionist said"there was no order in my name.I asked her to check previous orders and again she said there was nothing. Few minutes later food arrived. So I called the restaurant back to confirm it was from you. The lady again said there is no record of my order and if it has a bill from Zest of India then it's probably from them.

Yes I did complain regarding the quality of the food to Uber as it was pathetically sub standard, added artificial colouring and the chicken had definitely sugar in it ..I lived and grew up in India eating Indian food...

Why have you not responded to the quality of the food?

So you agree that the food was...

AVIOD THIS PLACE. ITS A MASSIVE RIP OFF. just been there just me and my 8 year old. We didn't look at the menu.as I knew what we were having. We ordered a chicken tikka curry. 2 chips. A side salad and 3 pomadoms. They asked did we want drinks. I said have you got ordinary Pepsi. NOT Pepsi max. Yes he said. So I verified with him again. I wanted full fat Pepsi. He said yes we have it in cans. When he brought my drinks over. I had a small glass already filled with Pepsi. Not big enough to fit a can in. I tasted it. And knew straight away it wasn't full fat Pepsi. Anyway when we finished our meals. I asked him could he add another 2 cans of Pepsi on to the bill for me to take away. Yes of course he said. Then comes over with 2 cans of Pepsi max. I told him I asked you was it ordinary Pepsi and you told me yes. Then I looked at the bill. After he took the first one to take the cans of pop off. And it was just under £35. So I called them over and said. My bill is wrong. It's saying £14.95 for a curry. They were like. Yes that's right. I said it can't be. £15 for one curry without anything with it. They said yes. 2 chips were £7. Then I said. It's still wrong. Which they told me. There's a service charge added on too!!! I couldn't believe it. I said I've never ever paid that much for a curry before. To which the woman told me. Didn't you check the menu prices first. And all they curry's are a set price and they always busy. Urm somehow I don't think so. Been ripped right off!!! Never going there again. And also the taxi driver couldn't believe it when I told him. He said they are never busy! .........

What can be said that’s not said once you have eaten at “Zest of India” (BLACKPOOL).

It has lived and surpassed all expectations that my wife and I could have had.

Me and my wife visited BLACKPOOL on the 27th MAY 2023 for a three day getaway and discovered this GEM of an Indian restaurant.

The Service is really friendly and efficient, moreover, I really would like to give a special thank you to our waiter on the day RIZ. His unique ability to enchant us with his warmth and allow us to feel welcome is very few and far i between. Through our observations he had every customer that we saw coming through the doors exactly as such, so very well done MATE!

The Food is simply of superb, the fresh quality and of generous portions which is of ultimate value for me as customer is refreshing. It was our first time here on the 27th but our whole three day trip to BLACKPOOL was spent going back to ZEST OF INDIA for three days in a row.

Me and my wife come from a south Asian background and from personal experience have tasted a variety of south Asian cuisine. And we both collectively have give this restaurant a five-star review. In simple terms The best Indian restaurant ever we have been to.

We can't recommend this place enough, from the food to the service, you'll struggle to find a better Indian restaurant that I have been to and could compare this to.

Do yourself a favour stop reading and if you’re up for good food go and give it a try and...
