Bridge Guest House — Hotel in Cambridge

Me and my friend booked a twin room for two nights. We were provided room 7 which had a pull out bed and double bed. The room was dated, scruffy and rundown. Stains on the bedding. Curtains had holes in them. Punch hole in the bathroom door. Worst of all we didn't sleep a wink. Both our beds were uncomfortable hard and squeaky. The worst sleep I've ever experienced. In the morning about 9.30am we made our complaint. ||||The manager was still asleep and came out in her dressing gown. We were made to feel like we had interrupted her lie in!!!! We advised we couldn't stay in room 7 again. She kept saying no one has complained before. (they must not read their own reviews)||She came back 20 mins later (still not dressed) and swapped our room for room 12. We were told that room 7 was an upgrade for us and their best room. That was quite a shocking statement I would hate to see the rest of the BNB. ||||The beds were better however I think because the others were so bad my judgement was off a little. The room looked brighter but was still rundown. Bed side lamps did not work. Dust and dirt in the bathroom. Broken wardrobe. The bathroom has a handmade looking slide door which had a big gap filled with a draft excluder to stop you being able to look in. (Very weird) ||We checked out at 10.30 as requested and had to call for the manager. Once again she was in her dressing gown. ||||This was probably the worst BNB I have experienced. It's only positive was its location to the city. However if I had my time again I would pay more for a better place or book something further away then visit this BNB again. Perhaps this place is for workers. It had no charm appeal or customer care in place. Not a place...

Ho soggiornato due notti nella camera numero 6 tra il 30 novembre e il 2 dicembre.||La camera è ubicata al piano terra con finestra che si affaccia su un piccolo giardino interno. È dotata di un bagno finestrato di grandi dimensioni, con doccia e servizi igienici, è presente pure il bidet cosa non comune nel Regno Unito. Ci sono i servizi di cortesia.||Anche la camera è abbastanza grande, con letto matrimoniale, armadio , una poltrona, tavolino e sedia, tv. Parte del mobilio è un po’ datato. È a disposizione degli ospiti un bollitore di acqua, con cui prepararsi qualche bevanda calda: erano presenti caffè solubile, bustine di tè, zucchero e mini porzioni di latte liquido.||La camera era pulita ed è stata riordinata il secondo giorno della mia permanenza con ripristino dell’occorrente per le bevande calde. Un po’ difficoltoso aprire la porta della camera in quanto la chiave si alloggia male nella corrispondente fessura.||Non ho usufruito del servizio di prima colazione che aveva comunque un costo basso.||Davanti alla struttura c’è un piccolo parcheggio privato. È abbastanza vicina alla stazione dei treni, circa 10 minuti a piedi, e si può raggiungere il centro città con una passeggiata di circa 30 minuti. Vicinissimi ci sono alcuni negozi di alimentari.||L’ambiente è tranquillo. Il wi-fi funziona bene. Viene fornita anche la chiave della porta esterna della struttura che non è presidiata di notte ma neanche di giorno a quanto ho notato. Durante il giorno la chiave della camera deve essere lasciata in vista nella reception, quindi potrebbe essere usata impropriamente.||Il giorno del mio arrivo, essendo la camera già pronta, è stato possibile effettuare il check-in prima di mezzogiorno, come avevo già anticipato via mail alla proprietaria.||Da segnalare un problema. Subito dopo avere prenotato la camera tramite un famoso portale con la clausola che la prima notte mi sarebbe stata addebitata solo dopo il 30 di ottobre, la struttura ha richiesto il pagamento alla mia carta di credito con un anticipo di 10 giorni sulla data del 30 ottobre. Ho segnalato la cosa al portale che si è interfacciato con la struttura che ha ammesso l’errore proponendosi, qualora non avessi disdetto con richiesta di restituzione dell’addebito, di valutare uno sconto sulla seconda notte. “Ovviamente” al mio arrivo, al momento di pagare la seconda notte, dello sconto non c’è stata traccia.||A parte questo problema, che incide negativamente sul punteggio che assegno, mi sono trovato bene e posso consigliare le camere sul retro, ma non quelle sulla parte anteriore che si affacciano su una...

The hotel isn’t close to the town Centre as described in the description. We booked two rooms and one of them was exceedingly appalling. Left take away boxes with food inside, empty snack wrappers etc inside the draws. Beyond dusty. Couldn’t use showers in both rooms as it was filthy, the ceiling fans were so dusty, couldn’t use it as we have asthma and just general poor hygiene to have it on. Not worth the money. Called the owner (Athena) to speak about the takeaway issue and cleanliness and her response was pretty irate, said it’s only a draw with rubbish in and to put it outside our door… not understanding that we have paid to stay there and would not want to pick up someone else’s rubbish when it’s the establishments responsibility to ensure the rooms are clean ready for next customers.
