We have booked this venue for my nephew’s and mine birthday celebrations. I remember visiting this chain at different location and being very positively surprised with the whole concept that I have actually presented at my University well before this place existed. So very well done to the owners for spotting business opportunity. My tutor thought: “no one would want to go to a multi culture menu restaurant.” Little did he knew! So this visit was a bit less pleasant. Very long queue for the over the counter/deli dishes that took ages to cook. I always go for those as they are super fresh. Some food was overcooked or maybe less popular and stand in the heat for too long (especially shrimps were so overcooked that there were uneatable). The best fresh pizza! Freshly cooked shrimps and beef! (To my liking raw and slightly medium raw shrimps) In overall I felt rushed with the allocation of 1.5hr springing time to wait to order drinks and then wait ti order my food. By the time it was a desert time our time was up. So my suggestion is: get one person waiting for the drinks and grab whatever is prepared. We have far away table as we were party of 8. Which I do not mind as the rest of the restaurant was far too crowded and noisy! Overall nice experience. I will be back more prepared what to eat and what not next time.

I request Manager must train the staff to greet the customer first instead of letting the closing times and procedures or at least recruit someone who have some basic knowledge on hospitality. Food was at its worst, dry and soggy stuff.. Asked for replacement as the rice was dry, flaky unable to eat, chefs are not interested to change it or remake new-one after 8pm!! Why??? A guy was using green pan to wipe off the curry on the tip of the pans at 9pm at Chinese cuisine and using some uncleaned cloth to clean the pans when the food is still available.(refer to CCTV B/w 8:45-9:15pm) Instead of letting the customers know 30 mins left 20 mins left 10 mins to left to close the restaurant, train them professionally. Not suggesting to my friends and family.

-EDIT- I originally gave this place 3.5 stars (which I rounded up to 4), it's saddens me to say that things seem to have gone downhill in the 2 years since I posted that review. Having recently gone again after not going for a very long time, I found myself incredibly underwhelmed. You'd think in 2 years they would've made a number of improvements to the experience, but it's really quite the opposite.

I went for lunch, and the first thing which foreshadowed the lacklustre experience I was to have was the sight of the chocolate fountain, switched off. This was not the case for lunch when I made my original review, I asked if it would be switched on, the waitress I asked just walked away without saying a word, got someone else who I guess could actually understand my question, and simply answered "at five", then walked away, leaving me confused. I can only guess that it's now only switched on for the dinner service.

Food I remembered being quite good was just ok, I really struggled with eating about 50% of the dishes I put on my plate, leading to a lot of waste. It got to the point where I was trying to force myself to finish what I had put on my plate, despite hating it, just to try reduce the amount of wasted food.

You really get the feeling that the staff just don't care at all, not once did I see one of them smile, it really makes you wonder why that's the case. I'm sure Nines don't go out of their way to hire miserable staff.

Now, this might be nitpicking, but it was frustrating as a person who does not like artificial sweeteners, to see only Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max available. Though, to their credit, these drinks are now refillable, which I guess you could say is an improvement, as this was not an option before. Personally, I'd take a regular cold glass of Pepsi made with real sugar, over a refillable chemical ridden concoction. Because of this, I only drank water.

All in all, my revisiting of Nines was quite the disappointment, had I gone at dinner time maybe that wouldn't have been the case, but, if it's anything like the lunch service, it's just not worth the trouble. With a multitude of better restaurants at its doorstep, I find it hard to justify a revisit again anytime soon.

-ORIGINAL REVIEW- If I could, I'd give this place 3.5 stars. I'll start with what I liked about Nines. The atmosphere is incredible, you walk in and the buffet stretches further than the eye can see (and that's only a slight exaggeration). It's exciting going round and looking at the different available dishes, you don't really know what you're gonna find and you end up trying to fit everything all on the same plate. My mouth DROPPED when I saw the dessert section, I had a plate full of hot food and I was extremely tempted to just put it down and just eat all the sweet stuff.

Now for the unfortunate downsides. Not all the food tastes high quality, some dishes taste incredibly good, while some taste cheap and are hard to finish. The staff seem to struggle to understand English at times. I found it odd that when you ordered drinks from the table, they'd go, get your drink, then charge you. If they want to use this kind of system, it makes more sense to me to charge me when I actually order the drink, so I can sit down, order my drink, grab a plate and get the food I want, then come back to my drink ready for me.

I will definitely be going back again, the dessert section itself almost makes it worthwhile. I'd definitely give it ago, go with a few friends or family and prepare to be blown away by the impressive selection of...

Disappointing Experience with Rude Staff

I recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience. The rudeness displayed by the staff members left a lasting negative impression.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a complete lack of hospitality. The staff seemed disinterested and unresponsive, making me feel unwelcome. Their demeanor was far from friendly, and it was evident that they lacked proper training in customer service.

Furthermore, the rude behavior continued throughout my entire visit. When I asked a simple question about the menu, I was met with condescension and impatience. It was disheartening to be treated with such disrespect as a paying customer.

In addition to the staff's behavior, the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was subpar. Tables were left uncleared, and the floor appeared dirty and neglected. It was clear that proper attention to cleanliness and hygiene was lacking.

I believe that a restaurant should not only deliver quality food but also prioritize exceptional customer service. Unfortunately, my experience at nine’s fell short on both fronts. I left feeling disappointed and discouraged.

I hope that the management of nine’s takes this feedback into consideration and works towards improving the behavior of their staff and the overall cleanliness of the establishment. As a customer, I believe it is important to be treated with respect and to dine in a clean and welcoming environment.

I sincerely hope that my review helps others make informed decisions and encourages the restaurant to make the necessary improvements.

Remember, it's important to remain factual and respectful in your review. Feel free to make any changes or additions to the review based on your...

We checked in at nines Cambridge ( for dinner )and we had 7 people with us, including children. As some people might know eating with children can be a hard process especially with 1 toddler to care for as well. As we finished our food and proceeded onto dessert, the assistant manager approaches us and demands that we leave the table as she needed it for other guest. Taking into consideration that the restaurant was going to close in approximately half an hour we was totally stunned. With out a warning she started clearing the table and taking our plates of us including our drinks. This unfortunately lead us to not finish our deserts. This absolutely shocked us . We trying to explain that and Assistant manager wont do any apologies. She said there is a limited time for the table ( 1 hr and 45 min ) but it’s clearly saying only for busy hours.( she cleaned our table around 8.30 pm ) But she didn’t understand. This day was meant to be a nice surprise for me as it was farther a day but turned out quite the opposite. I would like to say thanks for the manager as he did understand and he apologies about that . Please don’t treat to the people like that as they come to have a nice time , specially spent lots money( per person 25 pound + extra money for drinks ) .Definitely we wont go anymore and not recommend go to this place . There is many deference food trays you can see ( very nice display ) .But the food you can’t feel different taste. All the food taste bit same .8.30 pm they start the cleaning process ( while people eating) and you can have only few deserts at this time . Finally Our feel like we spent 154 pound for nothing . It’s much much Better to order the Chinese takeaway instead of...
