This review is of the children's playground within the recreation ground. This playground provides the nearest paddling pool to the Romsey and Coleridge area. During summer months it is well used by children and regularly maintained and chlorinated by the council. There are shaded areas for parents to sit while observing children and good shallow areas for smaller children. The playground is well fenced preventing child escapes, and there are not one, nor two, but four revolving appliances for those that like centripetal pleasures. Read moreGreat place to spend a day with younger children. Lots of trees for shade around the paddling pool/splash pad. Though little shade around the playground. The only issue, was finding a parking place! Parking on the street (again in shade), is for 4 hours. The station is a 10 minute walk.
Best to get there early if you want to sit near the paddling pool in shade, or around lunch time, when a lot of people leave. Take a picnic and lots of drinks.
