Both our family including a 2 year old and a couple of other men in a van had remained in our vehicles effectively trapped for fear they could have been armed.
When we reported this to reception we were told it happens all the time and there’s no point reporting it to the police because they do nothing! The receptionist also stated on one occasion she had had to flee the reception area because a man armed with a machete entered!!
We insisted they called the police which they claimed to have done but we were not interviewed and despite numerous requests premier inn guest relations have refused to provide the crime reference number.
Needless to stay we barely slept for the duration of our stay - waking to every noise and movement - and this was after deadlocking the doors and putting obstacles in the way of windows and doors to try to protect ourselves - especially as we were on the ground floor!
To add insult to injury halfway through our stay we were forced to move rooms impacting our stay even further as we were moved closer to the car park.
We let reception know we were unhappy about all these issues and just got a tough luck - it happens everywhere - it does not! We have stayed in premier inn across the country and overseas and it has never happened before!
We requested a refund under the good night guarantee and Toni at guest relations told us the car park is not their responsibility and they would not refund.
Utterly disgraceful.
DO NOT STAY HERE EVER!

When l was younger & could drive myself l visited regular but as l have got older visits have been very rare. Then Covid came & l thought l would never see Doncaster again. My family decided to take me for my surprise 80th. The staff made every effort to make it wonderful for me they were all so kind & friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Lots of my brothers local family turned up and my sisters family from Cambridge. We stayed for two nights my sisters for one night. It was so wonderful to see them all and l had no idea. They all kept coming in at different times. We had drinks in the bar & lots of chatter. 26 off us all sat down for dinner that evening we all ate differently from the intensive menu but the service was excellent and the food beautiful. The staff brought me my delicious chocolate brownie with a candle In and they all sang Happy Birthday to me and gave me a lovely Birthday card and a box of chocolates. They did their utmost to make us feel very welcome. I had a lovely room, clean excellent bed and all very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless & l would say very new. I went for breakfast the next morning & the manager said it was on the house because it was my Birthday. I don’t do breakfasts it all looked lovely but l was so full from the night before.
