The Lakeside Beefeater — Restaurant in Doncaster

We arrived at this restaurant and was taken to a row of 2 per tables by lady with a bun on her head with glasses. I think she was the manager. I asked her if she had any better tables available as we weren't happy with it. She abruptly answered with. "no all the tables are fully booked", then walked off.

A table became available at the end of this row of tables for two. We thought this may be slightly as we only have one couple next to us rather than one each side. So I asked a member of staff if we could move to it. He said he'd ask then cleared the table and went. It had been 10 minutes and nobody got back to us, so we moved to it.

Then I could see the lady shaking her head at us. Then she came over to another member of staff that was near us and said 3 times to him, I'm going to have to find another table for 3 people now. Not thinking anything of it at first, but soon realised she was aiming these comments at us.

10 minutes later, she came over and told us we had to move because the table was booked out by 3 people. A table for two? So I said, can't they go where we were just sitting knowing the table wasn't actually specifcally booked for anyone really. She said no and repeatedly said the table was booked and just had an obvious attitude with me about it.

I asked her if she wanted us to leave? She abruptly said no, but we need to move tables. It was obvious the table wasn't actually booked and it just how they arranged people to be seated. It was clear, that she just couldn't be bothered to change this arrangement.

After her attitude demanding that we move, we left the restaurant. This is bad customer service. This was a special evening for us as it was our anniversary.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our server both evenings was Linzi (not sure on the spelling sorry) and she was so lovely to the children. Tyler and Emma both kept looking for you Linzi throughout our time in the Beefeater at tea times 😅

The food was generally good but I did notice the price for the smothered chicken seemed a bit steep for what my partner got. Last night the meals were spot on and the server who brought our meals even made a joke that I had the better meal (mixed grill) to my partner (rack of ribs) which was lovely to have a laugh with the staff so thank you to the young man who served us and made the joke. You we're very welcoming and it was refreshing to see someone enjoying their work! x We only had an issue with the fries and peas being cold when we came in tonight but mentioned this to Linzi and she apologised profusely and discounted our puddings off the price bless her.

Atmosphere was great and I noticed the music this morning was quite chill to wake up to. Quite loud in the evenings but obviously with a lot more people in you expect that.

Breakfast staff were lovely this morning and very helpful and very kind to the children. We unfortunately didn't get the name of the lady who served us this morning but have been told she is back on tomorrow so we will add her name here for reference.

The puddings had to be the tastiest so we strongly recommend the black forest sundae and the chocolate churros sundae 🤤 absolutely delicious.

Thank you to all the staff and to Linzi thank you for making our days brighter and for being so happy during your shift. It made all the difference when we had a bit of a difficult day with the kids! ❤️

Just wow unfortunately I lost a set of headphones here and spoke to someone who was very nice who assured me that someone would look into this and check where my car was to see if they fallen out was informed I would get a call if I didn't I was to call back i called an hour later and had a woman on the phone which seemed to be quite annoyed at me and decided to stereotype women for someone known reason she seemed very agitated and just did not want to deal with me when I asked if anyone had looked and was unwilling to help any further I understand losing the headphones is my fault but I don't expect that kind of attitude of someone especially after just spending 30 quid on essentially one meal and two drinks were my stake was over done and no one came to check if my food was okay and they took over an hour to clear the table and they have light shades which are so low you bang your head just standing honestly worst experience I've had a beef eaters when it comes to the food it was not up to standard but I didn't really want to make a fuss because I didn't think it would get me anywhere due to the lack of care they clearly show towards people which are eating even my dad had to get my fork because they didn't bring one and if I was you don't get the peppercorn sauce it was not grate and you really don't get a lot thanks for the disappointment i will not be back but I just wished the woman didn't have as much of an attitude as she did as there really wasnt a need at the end of the day it wasn't like I was asking a lot she just came off very rude and very accusatory I will be escalating it further as I do not believe her conduct is necessary or that she appreciates...
