I’ve been to Etto’s many times for coffee and cake or a pastry. Only once have I been disappointed. It’s been a few weeks and thought I’ve got some time so will have lunch. As I’ve always found the counter staff very helpful and friendly. It was busy considering it’s a Monday and I thought I’ll try the beef and rustic bread. Expecting a hearty, filling thick soup/stew (as described) as I started eating I looked at the texture, flavour and cut of the vegetables. Read moreVery poor service today -we usually visit here two to three times a month. This morning we went in and ordered four drinks one toast and some cakes to takeaway. We paid for our order and sat down waited for drinks and toast . Several minutes later order arrived with server saying we have only been charged for one takeaway pastry, not six and that we owe them another eight pounds. At this point we had not seen the receipt as it comes with drinks and so we had no idea it was wrong anyway -we paid the difference. Still waiting for my toast coffee nearly finished I looked at receipt and noticed no toast had been ordered went to food counter to ask where my toast was as this was the second time the order had been messed-up. The server turned to a staff member get some toast and charge £3.75 no sorry no nothing .We had to pay three times for very poor service and very poor experience. We have spent hundreds of pounds over last six months at this place. We will not be going back there again. You get better...
