We really liked the Marazion Hotel, it was exceptionally clean, the decor had been well thought out and really created a "beach" mood and as we were 50 yards from the sea it really felt like we were there too. Great location, lovely town and just incredibly welcoming people. All the staff we met were very personable and couldn't do more for us which gives it a really good family feeling. The food was very good indeed and I took someone else's review who mentioned the seafood chowder and it was awesome! I had it as a starter but really it was a main in size and I couldn't fault it. This hotel has a very friendly feel about it, everyone is accomodating, discreet and obliging, it's more like a fairly priced boutique hotel and as we were looking at the Godolphin across the road to book as well, we are so glad we booked the Marazion Hotel. Having had a drink in the Godolphin one day whilst we were there, we felt it was nowhere near the standard of the Marazion Hotel and the staff just didn't appear to have their heart in their work. We are sure it's lovely to stay in but for us next time it'll still be the Marazion Hotel. Well done to Steven, the deputy manager for helping us out with an important document we had to print, sign and get back to a solictor, all done with no fuss and very speedily, it was very much appreciated. It is very hard to provide hotel accomodation, a bar and a restaurant that all work well together, I am not a fan of hotel food generally, it's just a trapped audience as far as I am concerned but the Marazion Hotel has it spot on, lovely restaurant (and food) a bar with character (and characters both behind and in front of the bar!) a lovely selection of Cornish beers and spirits which were very well kept and a lovely quiet hotel. We both felt extremely comfortable in the bar, restaurant and our room. I almost forgot, they have a large lounge which is tastefully decorated and with interesting books, seating and layout, we had our dinner in there one night and...
Read moreArrived at The Marazion Hotel on Good Friday, a lovely warm welcome from the "Front of House" staff, the hotel is as expected very inviting and a place where you can sit and relax off the main reception area. Dining room is very well laid out for guests and also any "walk in" diners. Dining staff are very good at putting you at your ease, service is very good. Food freshly prepared at a "buffet style" breakfast, waitress service for those wishing a cooked breakfast. Menu covers both English and European choices. Dinner on Friday was cooked to order, very well presented and "piping hot". Great service again by the waiting staff !! Bar area well stocked and typical English like atmosphere about it. Bedroom was at the rear of the hotel and was very quiet considering the proximity to the hotel car-park. Spotlessly clean, bathroom as well. Modern and functional,"does what it says on the tin". Would definitely reccomend a stay here, just booked a second stay as 3 days wasn"t long enough to do and see everything on this trip. All the staff from front of house, dining, bar and housekeeping very good at what they do. Management deserve a "pat on the back" Well done guys..you all made my stay...
Read moreWe experienced something special during our stay at the Marazion Hotel, which we thought had been lost from modern day hospitality. There is a close-knit team here, all of whom work hard to welcome guests and ensure they have everything they need. They are friendly and warm, and a delight to have around - and it’s quite obvious that they all like each other, which is a pretty special thing. The hotel is comfortable and has a relaxed atmosphere - and enjoys an amazing location just opposite from St Michael’s Mount. Our room was bright, spotless, and very well appointed; with one of the best showers we’ve ever had in a hotel, and plenty of storage for our things. The bed was very comfortable, and made for a great night’s sleep. The breakfasts were delicious and of the highest quality. We had dinner at the hotel on two of the three nights, and wished it had been all three. The menu was superb, incredible value for money, and amongst other lovely dishes, we had the best Cornish seafood chowder imaginable. Sunday roast was sublime. We recommend the Marazion Hotel unreservedly - and will definitely be going...
