Unwelcoming, over priced and really, really poor quality.
We visited two days ago and staff were not particularly thrilled to see me. Frosty greeting which I put down to them closing in the next 15 minutes. I asked for two steak pasties which were out of stock. I then asked for two mince meat pasties which we took back to our holiday cottage.
Pasties were 90% to 95% potatoes with 5% mince meat. I was disappointed as I have never received such low portion of meat in any of my pasties. We found the pasties to be really flat, no flavour and the meat was at best extremely bland. Initially I thought it was just me but my girlfriend had to bring out the ketchup so she could try to continue eating hers.
We paid just under £10 for a pair of pasties that were anything but premium which is what they advertise. Mince meat could be best described as budget super market quality. It reminded me of the cheap mince meat I used to cook with as a student.
Overall extremely disappointing and I hope they use this feedback to improve...
Read morePasties look great, huge and golden, the fillings, so disappointing, there was way more potato than steak in the steak pasty, in fact maybe two/three small chunks at the most, it should have been called a potato pasty! So should the vegan, which was also way too salty, I was looking forward to a selection of vegetables, but it seemed to have just potato in it! The breakfast pasty: just don’t go there, I couldn’t eat more than a couple of fork fulls. I’ve had some great pasties in Cornwall, the Sennen Cove Cafe steak pasty! These are in no way comparable, these are awful and I suspect designed to fleece tourists. I don’t know if the recipes have changed to save on expensive ingredients like steak, or whether there is no consistency, certainly some of the photos look nothing like the insides of the pasties I had. But I suspect the...
Read moreArrived early, parking on street, to buy pasties for our picnic lunch out at St. Michaels Mount. A good Cornish pasties had in a while. Fair price for a good sized pastie, plenty of filling and wonderful flaky buttery pastry. Tasted and smelt great. The shop had a good selection of other fresh pastries. A must stop by if your in need of fresh local supplies for your picnic. Unfortunately, by the time I got to taking a picture of lunch we had devoured most of the pastie. Having walked around the castle all morning smelling these pasties had made us absolutely ravenous. There was a bit of a grumpy woman there but overlooked that as I was passing through. Went to the post office a few doors down and got the rest of...
