We went to Bowness for a friendβs wedding and stayed at May Cottage B&B for three nights. We drove up from London on Friday and Sue kindly waiting up to receive us when we arrived at midnight.
On Saturday morning we went kayaking on the lake with a local hire company. Sue gave us a great recommendation for freshly baked sausage rolls for lunch! And then we went to the wedding party on Saturday afternoon/evening.
On Sunday we dodged rain showers to do a short walk and a beautiful scenic drive through Great Langdale and Little Langdale. In the evening we went out for dinner in Bowness, dodging a few more showers to check out the swans, geese and ducks by the lake.

Β Β Β Read moreMy husband and I recently returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely B&B.
Joan and Simon were absolutely wonderful hosts and made us feel extremely welcome and looked after.
Breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious and it was lovely to have a nice treat before our day started. Joan even offered to make us some food to take with us when we had to leave early on our last day which was absolutely lovely.
The location is fantastic and is just a few minutes away from the docks, bus stops, shops, restaurants and from the start of some lovely walks.
Our room as well was really nice. A great size and very comfortable and cosy.
If we ever find ourselves returning to the area again then we would definitely return here.
Thank you for...

There were large windows we could open during the warm night. We had a cooked breakfast each day (one vegetarian, one not) which was freshly made and very tasty. Complimentary access to the nearby spa was a great perk, and provided a good way to spend a couple of hours when it was pouring with rain. A really lovely stay; I would highly recommend...
