When we initially arrived, we thought that the room and facilities were very good. We had booked the break through Booking.com to Seaham to search the beach for the famed Sea glass.Unfortunatly most of this has been found and removed by previous searchers. It was only after settling in that, when looking a bit closer, noticed, the following :- 1)The room not cleaned to an acceptable standard, ie dust build-up on top of mirror, bedside tables and bedside lamp. 2) Only three coat hangers available. 3)Only one drawer available for our clothes, as the other two had bedding stored in them. 4) Shower room was really well designed, but unfortunately the shower tray sealant had a buildup of black mold. 5) The glass shelf over the sink, was very loose, and therefore not level, as any item placed on it slid off into the sink. 6) Finally , as very noisy major resurfacing work was being carried out on the main road, sleep was disturbed throughout the night. This lead us to abandon our three day break at No 16 after only 2 nights, and went home. The extra Kingsize bed however was fantastic....comfortable, and and spacious. Overall the accommodation didn't meet our expectations.

Fantastic location. A short walk to the shops, cafe's and beaches. Free and ample parking outside. Beautiful room (Room 5). Stayed here before but was slightly disappointed to find the towel rail was faulty and we couldn't turn it off. Both me and my partner burned ourselves on it and it was acting as a radiator through the night which wasnt ideal through hot weather. We had a fan and opened the window as much as we was allowed (probably only 2 or 3 inches) but it wasn't effective enough to keep us cool. I contacted the owners on the number provided and they told us to use the knob on the radiator to turn it off which we had already tried and it was obviously faulty/stuck (video attached) . I told them it must be faulty and was still unable to turn it off. Yet to hear and response regarding that. Other than that, happy with the stay.

Clean comfortable and convenient. Perfect location as not too far from the station, town or beach! Parking is available and stores/ cafes are nearby. The security felt great, as a solo traveller I appreciate the effort for security 👏 Rooms were a little warm but a fan is provided and the windows do open (bear in mind some rooms face the road so will have traffic noise) Tea coffee and snacks in the room along with a handy brochure for local amenities. Beautifully decorated, walls even matched my Bunny 🤣 Spare blankets in draws make a lovely touch!

(Based off room 6)

I transferred here after one disappointed night of staying at Seaton Lane Hotel.

The location (esp. in comparison to Seaton Lane) doesn’t get better than it is! So close to walk out to eateries, beach, things to do etc.

The decor and ease of self check in etc. is also unmatched. For price equivalency and in comparison to the hotel I had checked out of this trumps on so many levels. The decor details were a breath of fresh air to find a light and airy feeling after checking out of nearly the opposite. Decor is well thought out, beachy and welcoming. The bath was one of the best I’ve ever had… the bed appeared and felt comfy but was one of the only misses in my mind (when you roll over and feel/hear the springs etc).

This “hotel” operates on more of an Airbnb type style (unmanned) which may not appeal to some but everything was so easy and well done (check in and check out) that I wasn’t bothered at all by this.

I will definitely recommend this place to any others heading to the area— for value and location this is the...

We had the smallest double room so cannot comment on the others. It met our needs for a 3 night stay. The hotel is well located in Seaham, very close to the sea front and a good choice of places to eat. The standard size bed was comfortable. Small room which was all we needed but there could have been a chair. Overall it was quite clean, but there was a heavy build up of fluff/dust behind the TV and in the shower extractor fan. No wardrobes in this small room but there was adequate open shelving and hanging space. The sash window and blind need some maintenance work. Very modern wall mounted TV with apps. Strong wifi and internet connection. Some apps were logged in - not sure if that's part of the service or whether they were from a previous occupant. With common sense, there is off road parking for 2 cars but it's more likely you will park on the roadside - there is plenty of free parking. We could easily see our car from the room, both when off road and also when...
