This is a decent enough place for drinks , situated in a prime location on the seafront terrace in Seaham. We visited on a sunny Saturday night at 6pm, hoping to sample the gin and food menus. The first thing we realised upon entering was that we would be there for the gin only....it's a medium sized room but it was very busy, and therefore quite rowdy.... the atmosphere was that of a working men's club in this way... no music, just lots of people's voices providing the soundtrack....definitely not somewhere a party could sit and eat on a weekend-the atmosphere was far too loud to allow casual conversation; to be fair though the food coming from the kitchen did look decent. Our party of 8 ordered a few gins, a couple were given with little bits and pieces wrong..... one was supposed to come with thyme but rosemary was given instead, one with orange instead of lemon...... little things that add up but with this place opening recently I am happy to blame teething troubles....I do think that Port of Call Seaham needs to decide what it wants to be-bar or eatery-it is far too small...

Ordered steak, mozzarella and salad and was asked how I wanted the steak which was good. However it was only just to say hot but on a cold plate turned out to be a bit disappointing. Would have been nice to have been told the fries would be peppered or had the choice of coating. Had coconut icecream for after but must have given me 8 scoops - far too many.... then charged me £4.00 for 2 servings as they don't do kids portions..... don't get it. Pleasant staff and comfortable seating but a little chilly if there is a breeze and the back door is open. Not sure if I'll...

came here whilst in seaham last night for a drink at around 9pm. as soon as we sat down a staff member came over and asked if we wanted food and we asked to look at a menu, was immediately told they stopped doing food a while ago. we said we'd just have a drink, to which we were told they were closing in thirty minutes. online it is advertised as being open till 11pm. the way the staff member spoke to us made us feel very unwelcome and was honestly quite rude. we ended up leaving and going somewhere else....

Decent selection of gin and craft ales, perfect if you're out for a meal with friends and want pizza, dirty burger or anything with chips, with starters and sides such as sweet potato fries and halloumi sticks - in cool, trendy surroundings. They had a brunch menu too which looked like it had a tasty choice of food. I had salmon, which was slightly too done for my liking but was seasoned well had a nice crispy skin, and they were happy to swap out sides for something else. Overall pretty good!

Looking for somewhere for lunch today and we ended up at Port of Call. It was very quiet today and not very warm, it's almost like I was in control of the thermostat. We both had the baconaise burger, dusted fries and it was very good, plenty of cheese and bacon with a couple tasty beef patties. There were a few other things on the menu that looked good too.

Had a great family meal here during our holiday in the North East. Great find. Had lunch after a morning on the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good selection of drinks. Great tasty food that came quickly. I would recommend the pizzas and flatbreads... my wife loved the vegetable quesadilla. Thank you for a great lunch!
