We stayed for one night at Pine Trees Hotel and unfortunately the experience was disappointing.

At check-in there was construction at the only entrance, and the front desk staff was on the phone for several minutes without acknowledging us. When she did take us to our room, she rushed through, forgot to give us our keys, and offered no explanation of amenities or the property. The room itself was comfortable and the shower products were great, though access was a bit confusing with several staircases.

Dinner at Fauna was the real letdown. We felt rushed from the bar to our table before our reservation time, were seated at the least comfortable table despite the dining room being mostly empty, and service throughout the evening was disorganized. The wine we ordered couldn’t be found, staff were visibly scrambling for 15 minutes before finally telling us, and then it took another 10 minutes for the replacement bottle to arrive. My husband’s ribeye was excellent, but my braised beef was dry and missing the bone marrow it was supposed to come with. Our server did not explain the menu, and we ended up with four types of potatoes by mistake.

After dinner we waited 15 minutes to order drinks while the bartender chatted with another guest. The whisky tasting my husband ordered was supposed to come with chocolates, but staff only told us they were out after running around for 10 minutes. They offered a £5 discount but no real apology.

The accommodation was fine for the price, but service overall felt rushed, unpolished, and inattentive. With some adjustments this could be a wonderful experience, but unfortunately it...

This an expensive hotel and looks the part. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. The gardens are attractive and well presented. The food is good.||However, the service is poor. Individual members of staff are pleasant and try to be helpful but there is little sign of leadership or attention to detail. To call the breakfast service chaotic would be generous. Service was glacially slow on all three days, with no evidence of improvement over that period despite complaints from several guests. The buffet selection was allowed to be exhausted and not replenished. A fellow guest asked if more fruit could be brought out and was told "Sorry, no, we've run out". The order in which guests' orders were taken and delivered appeared largely random and multiple errors were made.|It wasn't only breakfast. On Sunday we were advised that the bar had run out of tonic water and Diet Coke, and that the next delivery was not due until Tuesday. Nor were there any fresh limes. It did not appear to occur to anyone that for a bar in a luxury hotel to be without basic items for three days was unacceptable, or that somebody could have simply gone to the local Co-op and bought a couple of cases to tide them over. |To sum up, this is a beautiful and well-appointed hotel which could provide a great experience but fails to do so by failing to deliver...

If I could put no stars I would,do not stay in this hotel,we were celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary and paid £500 for 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast in the coachouse, going by the reviews,we were expecting great food, soup was so pureed it would suit a baby, our main courses had been pre cooked and warmed through, tasteless,we couldn't eat it,when the waitress saw the full plates she asked what was wrong, when we said it was awful, she wanted to get something else, which we declined,we cancelled the next nights dinners, when I checked the bedding on our last night, the pillows were all stained and smelling of dirty hair, there were no pillow protectors, which you expect in a supposedly 4star hotel, there was a rusted pedal bin in the bathroom, the outside shower door was engrained with black gunge, I showed the photos I had taken to the manager and I may as well not have bothered, disinterested staff,I have tried to get our money back but they lied to our credit card company, please save your money and avoid this dump,it may have had 4stars in 2015 but something or someone needs to check this place out,ie,environmental health and tourist board, both of whom i have contacted, this ordeal has put us off staying in other hotels in Pitlochry, but they can't be as bad as...

This hotel was the absolute highlight of our trip through Scotland in terms of accommodation. Even though all the hotels we stayed at during our holiday were truly excellent, this one clearly stood out. What we loved: Exceptionally friendly staff throughout. From the first contact at check-in to the farewell, every team member was consistently courteous, attentive, and genuinely warm. The design of the recently renovated hotel is stunning. From the outside, it looks like a stately home, while inside it features many tasteful design details and a very cosy, harmonious atmosphere. Our room was also beautiful, with warm, ambient lighting and lots of lovely touches. The food – both dinner and breakfast – was absolutely excellent. What could be improved: The dining room is spacious, and the hotel was by no means fully booked. Still, all guests were seated quite close together, even though there were many free (and set) tables available. That was a bit of a shame. At breakfast, it took quite a long time before we were served, as only one staff member was present and they were not particularly fast. Overall: Our stay at this hotel was an absolute delight, and we can recommend it wholeheartedly. Next time we're in Scotland, we will definitely return to the Pine Trees Hotel!

We booked the Hogmanay break as part of our Honeymoon and we were not disappointed. The hotel itself has a homely country lodge feel to it and the room we stayed in (Molyneux suite) was expansive and luxurious. All across the hotel there were numerous little touches to set the Pine Trees apart from the many corporate chains out there. The staff are all superb and ensure everything is perfect with a friendly enthusiasm. The food is top notch and cannot be faulted. The beef wellington was a particular favourite. The bar is well stocked and staffed to ensure drinks flow nicely throughout the evening. New Year’s Eve celebrations were excellent with a Ceilidh band and a piper to pipe in the New year followed by a man awesome fireworks display which this year was followed by a flurry of snow which couldn’t have been timed better. It may be listed as a 4 star hotel but it feels more like a 5 star. Overall we left the Pine Trees with happy memories and a promise to return.
