When I first entered the room it was a nice size, definitely needs up dating kettle is around 50 year old and there where hairs on my bedding, wallpaper peeling of the walls. Food is not great and only allowed to go down at certain times which is not good for someone who has to have insulin at certain times before they eat, the manager did say we could go down earlier but couldn't guarantee it. My room didn't have a TV removed which was no issue for me as I just watch netflix on my phone. We got given 2 things to hang on door one to leave us alone and one for a full bedroom clean. I left the full bedroom clean one out hoping for a full bed Change and that was not done! The staff where amazing in the dinning area and bar area cannot fault them at all. There where a option to have a picnic bag with sandwhich, snack and drink for £4 odd. You had to pre order it the day before so we did for the journey home I ordered 1 tuna and 1 chicken sandwhich I noticed that the picnic bags where left on the reception on a red hot day a couple of hours after ordering them! They should of been in a fridge. The night porter does not know what privacy and confidentiality means telling everyone that room 59 was waiting for a ambulance and asking what room I was in, he should of waited to be approached by the person who called the ambulance or just took the paramedics to the room when they arrived instead of broadcasting it to everyone. I will be coming back to torquay but unfortunately will not be stopping at the reginer Hotel again. And last off all the entertainment was rubbish 2 comedians on through the week telling...

My friend and I have just returned from a 5 day break at the Regina, through Alfa Travel. I had previously read many unfavourable reviews of this hotel - rooms too hot, shabby and out dated decor and furniture , surly staff, terrible food, many other moans. I have to say I don't know what the people complaining had expected - 5* in a 3* setting maybe. My friend and I had very nice double rooms, I had requested mine to have lift access and a walk in shower, both were provided. The hotel is old and could probably do with modernisation but it was clean and comfortable. The staff were all extremely helpful, polite and friendly and the food was enjoyable apart from one experience of overcooked sliced roast turkey which had gone hard at the edges. The breakfasts were good with a wide selection of included items. The hotel is in a lovely setting, right next to Torquay Harbour which has a number of cafes nearby. With regard to Covid 19 precautions, they seemed to have everything covered. There was only about 14 tables in each of the three the dining room, waiter service only, even breakfast. Only one person at a time in the lift, unless they were travelling with each other and all the staff wore face masks around the hotel . The three coach parties staying each had a separate dining room. Our coach only had 25 passengers, distanced accordingly with a hand sanitiser machine on board by the front seats. Overall a really good option for a 3*hotel, we would go there again if it remains open, Alfa are currently taking over and updating the Metropole...

We have just returned from a 5 day stay at the regina. I used to work in this hotel 35 years ago so it was a trip down memory lane. The downside...some parts of the hotel are dated and could do with decorating and maybe have some back ground music in the restaurant? On the plus side...you can't get a better location!!!! We were welcomed by the manager who was really friendly and nothing was too much trouble for him. Our cases were delivered to our rooms very quickly. Didn't have much dealings with the reception staff as we had no need to but when we did they were lovely. The food was quiet basic but plenty of choice and really tasty. The choice of breakfast was unbelievable!!! The best scrambled eggs I have ever tasted..all served by our fantastic waitress Ina...who works extremely hard..thank you lovely 😍. The bar was well stocked and resonable prices...our lovely barmaid Lauren was good fun and made us really welcome...cheers my love. The rooms were cleaned everyday to high standard and I have never slept in a more comfy bed...it was bliss!!!!! So all in all a well needed break whitch could not be faulted!!! And to top it all the weather was perfect. So thank you all for working so hard we will definitely be returning to a little piece of paradise...

Lovely hotel, worth paying a bit extra for a beautiful view over the harbour. Our room was fairly small for a double but we managed. Food same as all Leisureplex hotels (I wish they would change that idea) All staff were very pleasant. Can't comment on entertainment as I don't want to sit in silence while bingo is played so never go. Everywhere was clean and tidy, housekeeping staff do a brilliant job.

Room needs updating holes in floors/carpet. Wallpaper pealing of the the walls and used silclicon to try and stick it back. Bedroom 74 terrible bed had hairs. Holes in the curtain nets. Was served cold cups of tea by the waiter. The price paid for that disgusting room was over priced. Staff were friendly. Food was good. No waiting serverd quickly. But unfortunately I will not return to this hotel.
