STARTERS

For starters we ordered scallops which I had never had before and they were nice, they had a very nice texture but there wasn't alot of flavour.

I also had whitebait with tartar sauce the whitebait was alittle plain but that's what you get with whitebait and I really enjoyed it. portion size was gracious and finally the tartar sauce was really lovely, again not a strong taste but went down really well.

MAINS

For mains we had the Grilled Royal Bream Fillets and the Skipper's Roll.

The bream was superbly cooked and had a meaty texture, I tired the romesco sauce but as I'm quite a fussy eater it didn't appeal I did think it added some wanted flavour but I if I had cooked it I wouldn't have taken it in that direction.

The Skippers roll was in my opinion the highlight of this meal it had the flavour the tartar was missing and the full belly to top it off again with all things it had a down side that was when eating it it fell out of the roll but nothing to worry about as there is cutlery for a reason.

UNLIMITED CHIPS

The unlimited chips really helped out by letting me fill up on chips when I had eaten everything else.

DRINKS

As for drinks we had the elderflower fizz and the pink lemonade.

The elderflower fizz was refreshing and easy to drink but didn't have alot of sweetness.

As for the pink lemonade it's flavour was beautiful a really deep and spiceful flavor but it's negative was alack of fizz where the elderflower lacked flavour...

Advice from a local, avoid at all costs. Hugo provided us with some of the worse customer service we’ve ever experienced, he has a hostile attitude problem and he’s the “manager”. We ordered a takeaway of three haddock’s totalling to £51, a complete ripoff! As a local my advice would be to go to ANYWHERE else! Pier point, Drakes all far better quality, kind members of staff and far better price. We had to wait 30 minutes after our order was given to another customer. It took Hugo 10 minutes after realising this to explain what had happened and asked if we wanted the customers cheaper meal. He did NOT offer to refund us the difference only to add in sauces. When the food we actually ordered eventually arrived no apology was given. The food was disgusting, the chips had no vinegar or salt so they were like eating cardboard and the fish was unbelievably oily, completely unacceptable for the price we paid. We went back to the restaurant to provide some feedback and were met with the argumentative and vile attitude of Hugo. Every point of feedback we had he dismissively argued back without a single apology and tried to LIE to us about how long we wait and what he offered us. Disgusting customer service. Trying to create complete lies to your customers is shocking. We love the Rockfish in Dartmouth and Brixham, and I would suggest Hugo pays a visit to one of their other locations to get some serious customer...

My family and I recently visited the rockfish torquay. We had heard it was very good but for us it was not.

Pro: Some of the food was good! The restaurant was clean. Free desserts were given.

Cons: The food came in the wrong order. They had a fraction of meals they advertised despite it being early. Food took over 30 mins for food to come. The ambiance was lacking due to others having similar or worse issues. They made serving and clearing mistakes. They mucked up the desserts. The cost was high for a less than enjoyable visit and we would have been better off with a takeaway. Their apologies were inadequate and felt insincere. Despite all their mistakes we were on a timer and expected to leave before we had finished so new customers could be subjected to the above disaster.

Overall our celebration was ruined and we will not get that night back but we can go elsewhere next time and ensure our friends are aware of our experience.

As this restaurant had a good reputation I hope these reviews by myself and family as well as any others who are disappointed recently ...help the owners get their ship in order!

Take away is fine but go elsewhere for a sit down meal or...

Why have we not been here before? Situated on Victoria Parade overlooking the inner harbour right in the centre of town. We like to support small independents when we can. It was a pleasant sunny day and as we were walking past here, we decided to see how the big boys do it. Well,we say big, they have ten or so locations along the south coast. Their moto is "Tomorrow's fish are still in the sea". We were warmly greeted and sat on their outside terrace. As well as the menu, there are paper place mats where the waiter highlights the catch of the day. Not being particulary hungry,we just ordered a selection of starters and one main course to share. Monkfish Scampi £13.95 Calamari £10.95 Dived Scallops £19.95 for three. Thought that was a bit of a punchy price as we normally get six for that price elsewhere. Plaice Fillet £23.95, this came with unlimited chips. They were very nice and we did get asked if we wanted more, but we declined the offer. Gotta think of the waistline.🤣 The staff were extremely friendly especially the Manageress who is a credit to the company. Overall it was a very nice plaice for lunch. They are also dog friendly.

Quirky fish and chip shop. Comfortablely seats upto to 4 people per table inside without rearrangement of furniture, dog friendly and additional seating out the front too. Front of house staff really friendly, helpful and conscience about food allergies including food intolerances. Upon arrival you get offered complimentary still or carbonated water. A member of the front of house goes through the local catch availability and pricing. The menu at first glace seems expensive. However after ordering the portion of fish; it was large and cooked nicely. With the main there was an unlimited side of chips too. The quality vs their pricing was very well tempted. The quirkiness of this small fish & chip shop does not stop in the dining area with pleasant Harbour views but also the mens toilets which were themed with a sea weather report in the back ground and mapping paper. The only down side of my dining experience was the paper durability that your fish is served on. I would happily come back to this establishment for lunch again!
