I must admit this is a late review as we did go in October but I have been meaning to write this.||The layout was confusing at first but it was lovely. There are communal areas as well as private areas (if you opt for that) it’s full of colour & no reception so it does feel very informal if you like that feel (which we do) and the house is just next door if you have any issues. All the doors are pin coded unique to your visit so privacy is ensured. The rooms are basic and on the small side but it does for a couple nights. in the rooms you get a double bed which we could only get round the one side (not sure if other rooms are different) a bedside table & a dresser (with a hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities) with a decorative cork board, airing cupboard with a fridge & small freezer section & an en-suite. The room was clean but could have been cleaner, having found a few coco pops on the floor under the bed but it’s minor, the shelves weren’t dusty. The en-suite cleanliness was on the poor side, the shower was blocked on the first night and having pulled off the plug, it was full of gunk and hair and just gross stuff, we cleaned it ourselves and it was fine afterwards (no one wants to clean when you’re away tho) the shower screen wasn’t all that reliable and kept sticking and i was constantly in fear it was gonna break! en-suites are lovely tho but the cleanliness of basic hygiene facilities was poor. it is about a 20-30 minute walk to the docks & town or a quick drive down the hill so it’s not the closest. I’d visit again but i would look for other places first. Thank you for our stay, it’s a shame because it could be a lovely place if the cleaning was more on...
Read moreI booked to stay at this property for 3 nights at the end of October. Unfortunately, I put the wrong email address in when I booked the property (missed a character and blame a senior moment!( This business is entirely online - the phone number I received on the booking form was unobtainable and there is no way to speak to anyone from the number online. The problem was that the entry codes were only sent by email the day before travel, therefore I did not receive them.||Despite sending multiple emails and facebook messaging I could not get hold of anyone to ask for the email to be resent. My first message was sent in the early morning of the day we were due to travel.||Rather than risk travelling 5 hours to have nowhere to stay, we decided not to travel. Their response finally came through at 2.30 am the next day. Our main reason for travelling was for an event on the Friday, which we obviously missed. I did ask for my booking to be transferred to another date but they just stated that their cancellation period ends 2 days before commencement of the stay. ||So due to an honest error on my part, we were down £260.00. Not happy at all.||Make sure you do not need to contact anyone if you want to stay here. Awful...
Read moreA very comfortable double room, with an additional writing desk unit located in the room. Bathrooms were on a shared basis, as was the self-service kitchen; breakfast was not being served, and not included in the room price. Nor were any alternative breakfast vouchers provided in order to dine in any one of the nearby eateries. I appreciate that we have still been adhering to COVID restrictions – however, I’ve since stayed at other venues (eg. located in Essex & Norfolk in January 2022) and have been served breakfast as part of my stay, which didn’t present any issues. Maybe this could be addressed once again, once restrictions are fully lifted…? Entry/access to the premises & allocated room is via code – hence, you need to ensure that you receive the code for access purposes in good time. Unfortunately, I did have some delays in receiving my code, which created some unnecessary stress. A relatively clean room, and quite a comfortable bed too. Well located; it’s about a 7-8 mins walk to the National Express coach stop on Berkeley Vale, and 12 – 15 mins walk down to the High Street / Prince...
