Great atmosphere and beautiful view over the sea. The ladies' toilet was not nice, possibly because it was temporary for the festival? Our server was lovely and tried hard to please but couldn't make up for the disappointing vegetarian meal. I ordered the smoky vegetable paella with seafood and had a stodgy mess with onions peppers and white fish. No variety of seafood for a sea restaurant. Very disappointed. All the meat eaters were very happy with their food of burgers, steak or belly pork dishes were all good, I'm informed. Couldn't quite believe they made me an Affogato dessert with decaf instant coffee. Horrid. But the server apologised and sorted it out but these are the reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5. Chef needs to work on the vegetarian options and never use instant coffee! Recommended if you eat meat only.

THE BEST ROAST IVE HAD IN A LONG TIME!! We were visiting Falmouth and after a short Google search we felt like The Boathouse would be the best spot in town for a Sunday roast and we were not wrong. I had the veggie roast and the nut roast was probably the most delicious I’d had and my partner had the lamb which he said was also extremely tasty. All of the sides on the meal (potatoes and veggies etc) were perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. It was also served pretty quickly which after walking and paddle boarding all day was much welcomed. We felt like the waiters/waitresses and bar staff were all exceptionally friendly and smiley which was a great additional touch. It’s also well located in town with a lovely view of boats 🛥️ We would come back and highly recommend. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We are our staycation in Feock, and found The Boathouse by searching on google, and it recommended this place for a Sunday Roast. Parking was a bit tricky, but as it was Sunday, I parked on the single yellow lines. The outside seating area is on the ground floor, and the restaurant and bar were upstairs. I wasn't aware of this when I made the booking, but the weather was warm and dry, so I decided to eat outside, which had the perfect view of the sailing boats on the estuary. We weren't disappointed with the food. It was delicious, and make sure you also order a side of the cauliflower and cheese. It was lush. The staff are warm and welcoming and a great friendly service. Definitely recommend and will visit again in the future.

I recently went for what was to be a family Sunday lunch. It stated on Google it was less than usually busy. There were 2 people outside drinking not eating. I asked for 3 menus as we'd like to eat lunch and was dismissed with a very rude hand gesture and advised "No we are too busy" My Sister left a review that you replied to stating if I'd waited around this would have been explained and I could have come back later! As a customer service manager for a blue chip company I would advise this isn't the best service and both your responses were nothing short of bad manners. Thanks but no thanks I don't spend my hard earned cash in such establishments. We had a beautiful lunch around the corner in Penny come quick. The service, food and atmosphere was excellent. You should visit and get some tips on how to provide the best service to your customers. As a regular visitor to Falmouth (I'd flew down that day) I will be telling my family and friends of my experience and will be advising all to not pay you a visit. Please don't bother to reply unless you want to prove my point of being very rude and showing this in your...

Good view, bad food.

Sadly the experience at The Boathouse is best described as lacklustre. We ordered from the 'specials' menu and I would say it is anything but. The beef curry was bland in flavour with very tough beef. The duck was flavourful with the sauces, but overcooked and equally tough, a steak knife would have been a useful accompaniment. The arancini was also completely tasteless.

The staff, however were very polite, efficient and courteous which can be increasingly rare when eating out these days. So I would like to say thanks to those staff.

They knocked the drinks off our bill which was nice, although i would have been happy to pay as we did eat all the food.

A new chef would be advised. One who focuses more on quality food as opposed to quality presentation.

Edit for reply from owner: The review reflects my personal experience of the place at the time of eating. I have said good things about the service staff. I don't believe I have...

Still one of my favourite pubs in Falmouth primarily for the view and the choice of beer. However, the food is always inconsistent. Had Sunday lunch there a couple of weeks ago about 4pm and it was great. We took my father there yesterday as he was visiting from up country and it was terrible. Was relatively quiet and we still waited quite a long time but don’t have an issue with that if the food is good. We thought maybe it was because they were waiting for a fresh joint of beef to be cooked but all three portions of beef (£18.50’each) were horrendously over cooked and had clearly been sat under a hot plate for a long time. 3 small cold roast potatoes each, veg ok and an extra £5 for CCheese. Due to the wait we did not have time to send it back. Service was fine so bar the wait did not have a huge issue with the additional auto 10% discretionary charge but that beef need should never have left the kitchen! C’mon BH kitchen crew I know you...
