On arrival we were greeted by Judy it was all a little clumsy but had been given the basic details of breakfast times, choices, etc ||the room was very dated and old fashioned and needs a revamp but everything you need provides towels, hot drinks, fridge, tv, a few bottles of water in the fridge would be a nice touch for someone who doesn't drink tea or coffee |The hand soap is watered down so be careful as it shoots out on use |||The breakfast room is small and houses all guests , good selection of cereals and spreads and cooked breakfast offered - only basic Aldi brands though ||Me and my friend came with our sons age 8 and 5 they were not tolerated very well at all despite being well behaved children - even other guests commented on how rude Judy was with them at breakfast each morning ( see their own review next one down ) I do not believe it's her place to tell our children to be quiet when only talking to each other |They were holding the table name place cards and Judy came over and took them off them and said " don't touch them they are for other guests" which I thought was very rude when they were only holding them !!!!!|We were so annoyed by the belittling of the children we didn't say goodbye on leaving and left the keys at the door to avoid conflict ||The parking is very poor and difficult , too tight to fit 3 large cars easily ||The guesthouse is close to the centre and local amenities which is a positive as you can walk to all local shops easily ||I would not stop here again and ยฃ70 a night is too high for what's provided - the guests lounge was out of use during our stay it was full of art materials, paints, fabrics etc from...

Thought it was nice that I could smell the bacon cooking in the morning first day breakfast was good but enjoyed the last days of breakfast the most as I had everything on my plate, didn't think to ask about having a full plate on the first morning . Thought it was a nice touch that they didn't hurry to get us out they let us stay until our train was due to go home which was nice as some places are quick to get rid of you. All in all nice people that own in clean rooms nice atmosphere . If ever in Newquay again will Deffo come back maybe next time with kids thanks...
ย ย ย Read moreWe stayed for a few nights, and Ben was very welcoming. Rooms were clean and tidy and will happily stay again when visiting Newquay for my next surfing trip. Location is walkable to Great Western beach with boards and wetsuits on, and only a 5 min drive to Fistral beach. Great location with Irish bar on the doorstep and restaurants. My soft top surfboard got damaged and Ben even went out of his way to glue and clamp my board. Awesome guy!!! Only things I would love to see on next visit would be a small fridge in the room, although there was one available in the communal hallway, so not to bad, but would be nice having one in the rooms, other than that a great experience. Oh and the Wi-Fi was good also...
