Ginger & Joe — Restaurant in England

Tiny portions. Very late service; food arrived almost 50-60 minutes after ordering and it wasn’t that busy. The prices don’t match the quality or the portions. Quite a disappointing experience.

Further to my review: I’m disappointed by your response, not just for its tone but for the way it dismisses honest feedback. Accusing me of lying and “targeting” your business is an aggressive and unfair reaction to what was a genuine reflection of my experience.

We waited nearly an hour for food, and while your team may have been working hard, the restaurant was not visibly at full capacity when we arrived. Portions were objectively small for the price, which is a fair point for any diner to raise.

Yes, we thanked the waiters because they were polite and not responsible for your pricing or portion sizes. Thanking staff on the way out is basic decency, not a declaration of satisfaction. To twist that into a claim that we “all enjoyed it” is disingenuous at best.

And the fact that you chose to go personal accusing me of lying and having some agenda is quite disappointing . I reviewed the food and service, not your character. You chose to attack mine.

Your version of events may differ, but that doesn’t invalidate mine. If you truly want to build a strong reputation, taking criticism on board without publicly attacking your customers would be a good...

Sensational evening at Ginger and Joe. Four of us went out for food and drinks on a Saturday evening. The decor is very cool, chilled and welcoming yet stylish; it had great ambience. We sampled a few cocktails - the blackberry and pear martini, espresso martini and knobbly bobbly were all amazing - and the house lager was really enjoyable. Food wise, we ate calamari, hake, beef short rib, breaded mushrooms, all of which were fantastic in both flavour and presentation. We also had a side of homemade bread which was delicious - particular the beetroot one. We shared a cheesecake and an incredible chocolate torte for dessert. The service was impeccable - attentive but never pushy and our server was so knowledgeable. One of our party is coeliac but was catered for brilliantly. All in all a wonderful evening! Thanks for having us and we can’t wait to return to sample more...
