Avoid Wah Hing Restaurant: Blatant Discrimination & Dishonest Charges Ruined Our Meal

I brought two families (total three families, 12 people, including children) to Wah Hing in Newquay based on my recommendation, expecting the quality typically associated with Chinese restaurants. While the food was acceptable (though significantly overpriced), the experience was utterly ruined by unacceptable and discriminatory behavior from the staff.

The Unforgivable Discrimination: It's standard practice for large orders (dine-in or takeaway) to receive complimentary prawn crackers. Our table of 12 Asian guests received none. Shockingly, moments later, a white family of 6, including children, were promptly given a basket. This wasn't an oversight; it was a clear, unspoken bias making us feel deliberately unwelcome and second-class. This racial disparity is absolutely inexcusable.

Deliberate Financial Dishonesty: To compound the insult, the staff then tried to charge me tax twice on my bill. When challenged, they feigned ignorance – a transparent attempt at deception.

Final Verdict: The combination of racially biased service, deliberate overcharging, and exorbitant prices makes Wah Hing completely unacceptable. I felt humiliated and cheated. I will never return, and I strongly urge anyone, especially those from minority backgrounds, to avoid this restaurant entirely – whether for dining in or takeaway. Food never arrived!!! Ordered 2 hours ago, rang to check where it was at 9.45pm tonight, and heard the girls in the back say that mine was still there... Then on the phone to me, told me it was already in transit. Just got a phone call telling me a road was closed and that the driver isn't coming. I told them there's another way around, was ignored and told again "the driver isn't coming, sorry". No remorse that I've waited 2 hours for food as it is, But why did I have to wait 2 hours to be told they're not coming at all? Do not order from them, absolute waste of time. I ordered takeaways a few times from here normally okay so thort me and my gf would go into it so much more expensive to eat in takeaway normally get 9 chicken balls cost 7 pound inside for 5 which were pink in the middle I spoke to the manager or kitchen staff she told me then cook chicken twice freeze them and she buys it from tesco not a butchery also my crispy beef tasted so fishey so swapped that for chicken curry with was floury so basically if u want 6/10 chips and fried soft noodles that was good this is the place to go otherwise avoid !!!!!
