I’ll start at the beginning and be as honest as I can. Staying here currently for work purposes, didn’t need all the fuss so expectations where not factored into the visit. When we arrived the the man on the desk spoke very little English and had to ring someone else to confirm the booking. We where then taken into what seemed like the fun house at a fun fair, small steep and an odd layout. Never the less we powered on. The smell of unwashed things was clearly present at this point. When I say unwashed things that could be anything and everything, entering the room, the smell again was still pungent. Basic, small and not very impressive, and bare in mind this isn’t “cheap” £70-85 per night you’d expect more. Spring beds Stained with I’m Not sure what. The tea and coffee tray hasn’t been cleaned since world war 2. The bathroom is so small if you fill the sink you’ll drown in it. Someone left their shower gel in side the shower which makes me confident it’s not been cleaned since the last stay. The pink grout wasn’t actually pink grout it was water scum. The shower has 3 setting. “Awch” “jesus Christ” and “ffs” if you have a physics degrees you may get there in the end but it’s doubt full. Awful rooms, dated and not maintained carpets etc. very over priced (and I didn’t pay, my boss did) And on the second night there was strong smell of the devils lettuce. Avoid...

I have stayed all over the country in different hotels. I’m a supervisor in construction. I had three days this week in Abermule in Wales. Hotels were thin on the ground, not sure why so my only option was The Bell Hotel in Newtown. Against my better judgment I reserved two nights. HORRENDOUS. Within the first five mins I had a hound lady telling me not to be surprised if the armed police stop by as it’s a regular occurrence. Apparently the local council house all the druggies and homeless here. I went up to the room after having to call the staff on the phone twice to be met with a literal s@&thole. If I can I will leave photos. There was a pube stuck to the bathroom wall, the room smelled like a drain. I’m not joking, like mould and damp. It’s disgusting. DO NOT STOP HERE. Find a travellers hostel. You’ll be better off. Zoom in on the first pic and you will see the pube. Never in all the hotels I have stayed in have I ever seen...

Avoid at all cost. This venue is being falsely advertised as a 3star hotel which it is certainly not. What it is being utilised for is a halfway house for the less fortunate and individuals who make poor life choices. Also there was no one in reception and the hotel was locked upon our arrival. After making a phone call a young lady arrived however she did not have a key for the entrance. So we had to wait again for another lady to finally let us in. The irony was despite the main entrance being locked all the ground floor room windows were wide open however the rooms were not in use, the whole situation left my wife and I feeling very vulnerable to the point where after the first night sleep of having to put up with a couple of individuals trying to get into our room we left the next morning and booked into a B&B. Very bad experience and I would not...
