Smart City Apartments - City Road — Hotel in London

My friends booked two apartments here for my Hen Do. The location was good, and the apartments are very big which was great. However... On arriving that morning into London, my friend in charge of the booking missed a call from Smart City Apartments who left an abrupt and urgent sounding voicemail for her to get back to them as soon as possible. She was panicked and for the next half an hour over the apartments was calling them back, but no one picked up. We waiting (wasting precious getting ready time) for over half an hour downstairs. Bearing in mind one of my friends is pregnant, this was NOT ideal. The only time they picked up was when I rang - obviously they had been avoiding my friends number and thought I was someone new. After having to basically re-create the crystal maze around the building we got our keys. The corridors were covered in weird plastic coating, and even though the rooms are large, many things were broken. The bin lids in the bathrooms and kitchen were completely broken (on the floor), tiles in bathrooms broken, the TV aerial was completely broken with wires hanging out..., etc. etc. Also absolutely no fire safety information whatsoever anywhere - pretty sure that's against the law. Such a shame as good...

Wouldn’t usually consider an apartment or ‘aparthotel’, but was left pleasantly surprised by my stay with Smart City. Due to work I had to get somewhere to stay in London last minute, and when the hotels were (expectedly) booked or ridiculously overpriced I looked at other options and came across this City Road apartment. Expected it to be drab/dirty, but this wasn’t the case at all. Nice furnishings, airy colourful rooms, clean, all kitchen mod-cons. I’ve never been more glad to be wrong. Would consider staying again any time I travel through...

Dirty, noisy, ill equipped. Beside a massive building site, couldn't open the windows because of noise and dust. Work started at 7.30 in the morning and was so loud that we had to shout to be heard. Emais sent Saturday but no response - phoned on Monday, changed flats but the next one (although less noise) was equally dirty, ill equipped and things didn't work. I have raised all these issues in a feedback email but surprise surprise I have had no contact from Smart...
