LOVED IT!
It’s my first chance to visit London and I wanted to knock out the main dishes - Full English Breakfast, fish and chips, and meat pie. I had some time to check in, so I looked up English Breakfast and this place popped up.
It was a small cafe (in America we have big restaurants but I know the style here is smaller and cozier), and I took a seat by the window. I ordered a coffee and toast, and the Full English Breakfast. I was NOT disappointed!!
Idk how a lot of other Americans feel about the beans, but I think they great. The sausage was bomb, I love the bacon. Bacon is different in America. In Europe, it’s these wider, rounder pieces of ham. Fried egg on a piece of toast then the roast tomato, thick hash browns and blood sausage.. it was 🤌
I noticed there’s not a lot of seasoning put on English food, but the flavor of the hash browns and blood sausage was great. The whole dish was delicious and somehow I polished it all off. Looking at others plates, it looked like everything they give is generously portioned.
Overall, a great welcome to London. I suggest whether you’re a visitor or native, stop by this place to have...
Read moreBarbican Café — Coffee Worth Coming Back For Tucked away on Lever Street, Barbican Café is a hidden gem where coffee isn’t just good — it’s memorable. Rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced, every cup feels crafted with care. Whether it’s a velvety cappuccino, a bold espresso, or a latte that’s almost too pretty to drink, the quality here consistently impresses.
The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with friendly staff who know their beans and treat you like a regular, even on your first visit. Prices are fair, and the atmosphere is just right — cozy without being cramped, stylish without trying too hard.
Hungry? Their breakfast menu is a quiet triumph. The avocado toast with poached eggs is fresh and satisfying, and the turkey breakfast with halloumi and beans is a hearty, flavourful start to the day.
Verdict: Barbican Café is the kind of place you stumble upon once — and then make a habit of. For coffee lovers, it’s a quiet sanctuary...
Read moreI loved everything about this place until I visited their toilets. The welcome was friendly and sincere. There was a good vibe. The menu undersells what I got. I had the 'Simple Breakfast' which the menu said contains sausage, bacon, hash brown, beans and egg. But what I got were 2 sausages, 2 hash browns, 2 slices of bacon and the rest. The plate was full and the quality of the sausage and bacon (often oor in cafes) was very good. If I hadn't needed to go to the loo I would have given the place 5 stars. But the toilets were not clean and didn't look like they had been cleaned in the last 24 hours. Not only that but the toilets walls were grubby and the sink tap loose. If they spent 3 hours of intensive cleaning on the toilets and then a good clean everyday it could be much improved. The food is good and the service friendly. Just sorting out the...
