Part of a coach party on arrival we had to supply contact details which was painstakingly slow until we were given the check-in cards and left to fill in details later. The room doesn't have any drawers, the shower was broken, the mirror light didn't work and shower basin grubby if attention had been paid to these details it would have made us feel special. After our first meal we had to fill a form with the next days options listing our allergies unfortunately the details got lost in the kitchen and again the details made for a great disappointment none seems to be aware of Natasha law which is enshrined in the British law books. There was little in the way of veg and the meals served was cold as it is under staffed. If this is what they offer to valued guests they need to seriously review procedures before something goes disastrously wrong. When the managers were made aware they couldn't see the problems. The hotel is next to a busy road so opening the window to allow natural ventilation isn't an option as this affects the soundproofing when offered another room it was rejected as it's tired state was worse than the one we were allocated. No views but 15 mins walk from the city centre Has car parking and a bar live evening entertainment on wednesday

Modern, clean and tidy. A nice ambience to the lobby and bar areas. Good food too. Staff friendly and helpful. It's just a shame it's on a very busy main road and tight getting in and out. But does have a covered secure ish car park. From an access point of view, some areas could have been better thought out - my accessible room was spacious and generally very good. But, the kettle and coffee making facilities were on a shelf about 4.5 ft high, not great for a wheelchair user. The shower was in the bath, the bath was a high side, to attempt to get in was not very easy for me to say the least. In the lobby, there are plenty of facilities to plug in and hook up your laptop to work from. But all are either very high needing a stool or very low tables and armchairs. No standard size table that is suitable for a wheelchair user. Yes, for an average fit person it's great here, apart from the noisy main road which is very noticeable in the Starbucks coffee shop and bar area. However, I would stay her again.

My main gripe is that one of their two disabled parking spaces used up with laundry bags. It seems to be where they are permanently stored. And the only other disabled bay had a grit bin in it. There are about 50 regular parking spaces so surely two of them could be converted? Also, if you park on the upper level, you can’t get into the hotel because there is a step so you have to go down (and back up) the very steep ramp which is only for cars. In the disabled room the kettle is out of reach and could be placed on the table instead. There is a bright green light that’s permanently on on the ceiling but I assume that is for disabled people in an emergency. The plugs are very far from bed, about 4 metres from the pillow so you can’t charge your phone at night. It’s on a main road so it’s noisy outside but I haven’t marked them down for this. On the plus side, the staff member we spoke to was friendly. Our room was large, as was our bed. Late check out was also a nice touch.

Decided to book a nights stay here as we had tickets for Motoon which was just around the corner. Arrived late but called in advance to check if this was ok, it was. No one was on the desk when we arrived, after a short wait - someone brought the paper work and handed the key. We booked a king room and looked like it would be excellent value for money - Wrong. As per the mans advice at the desk we took the lift down the coridoor. There were no signs for our room number anywhere and it took at least 10 minutes till we eventually found one. We found the funny side but I have never known anything like it before in a hotel! Got to the room, first impressions were great - massive bed, TV on the wall, decent bathroom. On closer inspection however, things werent so great. Bathroom wasnt clean, urine marks up the back of the loo seat. Floor were uneven, squeaky and wobbly. The bedding, absolutely vile. The thrown was covered in "stains". Yes, its a budget hotel but please look at the photographs. It was late, we pulled the sheets off and went to sleep. Sleep was awful, there was a crack under the door which not only shone light through, but meant we heard every door slam, every other guest. Morning came, we got ready and left, went to check out and again no one was on the desk so left the card and went home. Since we hadnt spoken to anyone at the hotel I send over a facebook message which was read by the holiday inn jesmond but completely ignored. I forwarded photos and explained we werent happy at all with the stay but it clearly wasnt a priority for them. I then contacted the main Holiday Inn page and explained we had been ignored, sent the photographs and told them about our stay. We were offered some kind of reward points which equate to something like £4 - When I questioned the reward points, I was then ignored and havent heard from them since. Its quite comical really. Really wouldnt recommend...

This hotel is great value, when compared with other hotels in the city centre. It's only a 10 minute walk from Haymarket, and also Jesmond Metro station is just a couple of minutes' walk away. ||My overriding memory of my stay is how friendly and efficient the front desk staff were. Unfortunately I don't know his name, but there was a gentleman on the front desk who was fantastic - extremely welcoming, polite and informative. If only all hotels had staff like this!||The Reception area is light and airy, with some comfy seats and plenty of high tables and stools with wall sockets, so great for remote working. The reception desk morphs into a Starbucks/Bar and there is also a small snack selection to purchase.||The hotel also has a separate large bar area, and a great Italian restaurant which is where breakfast is served in the mornings.||My room didn't have any view, however the bed was comfy and there was a decent desk to work at, large TV, and safe. Plenty of hanging space too. The bathroom was a little disappointing to be honest - it seemed a bit jaded and my shower attachment kept squeaking and the water would change temperature randomly. I could also hear conversations in the corridor, so soundproofing wasn't amazing.||However, given the price of the room, I think it represented excellent value for money; and it was a nice easy walk into the city centre. You also have the bars and cafes of Osborne road just a 10/15 minute walk away. (their outdoor seating areas were packed when we were there last weekend, owing to the gorgeous...

Arrives late and there was nowhere to park as the hotel was very busy. After driving round, I parked up outside the front door to see if there was anywhere else I could park. I was on my own and didn't know the area, so was a bit reluctant to start driving round The receptionist was really kind and made a quick phone call to the hotel manager who offered to move his car to let me have his space. Upon check-in I was also upgraded to a suite, which I think was because I was an IHG member, I wasnt quite sure. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The room was quite big, very clean with a huge bed. I did feel it was a bit wasted on me as I didnt arrive until around10pm. The bed was really comfy so I got a good nights sleep. The room was a little bit noisy from the road at the front, but I did manage to close the window which shut out the noise. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and service was quick. There seemed to be a lot of staff working, so tables were cleared and reset very quickly so guests didnt have to wait to be seated. Great hotel, friendly staff and nice clean rooms. Definitely value for money. The only down side is parking space if the hotel is busy, as the car park isnt that big. That said, this is the first time I have stayed where I havent been able to find a free space, but I do normally arrive a bit earlier. Thanks to the receptionist who managed to sort me a space, so I didnt have to park on the...
