Rang direct and the owner was most helpful, I wanted a double but non of the online sites had one available. Gave me a nice double room, very clean and a wonderful view of the sea and the sunrise in the morning. One of the most comfortable beds I have found in a hotel or B&B (room 5). Very relaxed and accommodating staff made the stay perfect. Miles of coast on the doorstep, close to some really nice real ale bars (Harbour View one to visit Thursday night live music) and restaurants (ask the owner or his wife as they are locals and they will point you in the right direction) bus stops very close which will take you into city centre or down the coast, metro transport just up the road going to Newcastle. Felt remote and unwelcoming.||Room 1 was ok, a little tight getting into the room. There was a microwave, fridge and kettle, in a cubby in the wall so a little inconvenient to use.||Bed was firm but comfortable, pillows not so good.
