So I go to Goa's, it's happy hour supposedly, 2 courses for £15.95 but we'll talk about that later🤔. I order a prawn puri for starters, which was very tasty, albeit when asked if I wanted it 'Asian style' like my main, all that was added to it was chilli flakes to make it hotter. For mains I ordered a lamb karahi, Asian style hot or Madras hot (for those who understand what I'm getting at) a garlic and coriander naan. The curry came with six pieces of lamb, padded out with large chunks of onion and sweet capsicum peppers. The photo shows half of what came to "pad" the dish out as I ate the rest. . The curry itself was "flat", ie no depth of flavour, no layers . The garlic and coriander naan was laced in ghee and soggy not crisp, so disappointed overall I'm afraid. I had high expectations of Goa and attended after reading some of what I thought were good reviews. I can say the service was attentive without being too over zealous. The waiters are professional. But the quality of the food is what makes you come back, nothing else really for me. The bill comes, it's £18.45, this is happy hour? £1.50 extra for asking for lamb? £1.00 extra for a 'flavoured naan' mmm not sure I was "happy" in the happy hour. I may return to see if they can...

We have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time, so we eventually did, all was OK at first. The pickles and poppadoms arrived which were fine. Then our starter arrived, the waiter was very rude by taking my plate away to put the remaining poppadoms on leaving me without a plate for my starter then walked away. The starter was cold which was very disappointing. We mentioned it to another member of staff who then informed the owner who came over to our table and said that to put it out of our minds and he would come to some arrangement and we would be leaving with a smile on our faces, so we gave him the benefit of the doubt. Our main wasn't to bad. Wasn't the best we've had though. Anyway the owner then came back to our table with our bill to say he had given us a voucher of £20 to be used within a month so therefore he would not be deducting anything off our bill. So fair to say we did not leave with smile on our faces and did not accept the voucher as we left it on table. We will definitely not...

Just left 5 minutes ago. 2 starters 1 onion baji and 1 bhuna chicken on pure. Lovely Mains not so much, vegtable korma tasted nothing other than creamy, had one giant lump of cauliflower, 2 sprouts of brocolli and I recall 1 peice of carrot. Cant be certain as I left atleast 60% of it. Tandoor chicken was so marinated it was only pink on the very edge. Tasted no different than plain chicken (apparently marinated). It came with a FEW worms of oniin and peppers and FROZEN chips! Naans weren't great either. We both left well over 60% of our food. I asked the waiter if he could inform management of our "tasteless food". Whitenessed him tell the manager and NOTHING. Not an acknowledgement, nor an appology. We even got left sitting waiting for our bill. So we got up and paid at the bar (unlike everyone else). Still no acknowledgement.

First time customer, wont be back. Will stick to our usual Zeera in Sheilds, whom are faultless. Only came here as the roads were bad. Lost chance of a...

The positives were that the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and is decorated beautifully inside. The location was great as you can see the sea right from the windows. The staff were extremely friendly and very prompt when it came to taking our orders (sometimes a little too prompt as we had barely sat down to look at the menu and a waiter was there asking what we wanted for drinks). The food service was equally as prompt and I believe we waited no more than 5-10 minutes after ordering for our food to come out. Unfortunately the food didn’t really compare to other Indian restaurants I’ve tried in the North East. Sadly my boyfriend and I are currently feeling quite unwell after eating here so perhaps some bits of our food weren’t cooked through. I don’t think I’ll be returning to Goa.

Booked a table for 8 on a Saturday night the place was full without being over crowded. Orders were taken soon as we settled in and drinks arrived with no mistakes. After a short wait our food arrived and every meal and side dish was beautiful Nothing was any Trouble to a very helpful staff No complaints from us and we will be back again soon thank you
