Dog friendly venue with a decent menu with a variety of choices away from pasty option, including a kid's menu and specials board. Everything was reasonably priced (for a town centre venue)but served with crisps?? Cheaper option of garnishing I guess. Jacket potatoes and wraps are a very generous size so offer good value but the name-sake steak pasty wasn't as good as others I've had. The wedges (that come at a separate cost) have got a bit of a kick to them and the tea cups are incredibly shallow which looks cute but not great if you're thirsty. It wasn't especially busy but our order did take a while to appear. Staff were friendly and helpful. On the whole though, I wouldn't be in a rush to go there again.

Went there this morning for a coffee and asked what's recommended. Been served "Giant" steak pastry. When it come to half of the pastry I noticed I didn't actually had much steak in there so I checked and this is what you'll get for a £5.15 mainly potato and vegetables and a table spoon of meat. Not impressed. *Edit - I don't feel necessity to contact you as I won't visit again and if it was supposed production error that must be going on for long my review is not the only one I found 4 more saying the same and the oldest was dated 4 years ago!

Had impromptu lunch with a friend in here... was pleasantly surprised by the prices of the jacket potatoes compared to where I live! Chose a chicken, bacon and cranberry jacket, which came packed full of it and with a fresh side salad. Yummy stuff! I wanted water that wasn't chilled, and all the bottles were chilled so the waitress got me some tap water. Very friendly and helpful. I didn't have time for dessert and ate my jacket so fast that I forgot to take a photo... sorry! I would absolutely go there again, especially I'm a fan of pasties.

Massive argument broke out. My family and I were in the local area and wanted to get pasties after a nice walk. So we phoned the Original Pasty House to potentially book a table for the 7 of us. The man on the phone was very nice and kindly informed that they do not make reservations however he told us that there was a table free if we went down, so we did. The 7 of us arrived and there was a massive queue, we thought no problem we will wait for our table. After a while the manager I believe (An old lady) made us sit down on two separate tables due to our large group. We were hesitant and uncomfortable with her decision and made requests if we could bring chairs to one table so we can sit and eat as a family. She denied all our requests. So we sat at two tables very awkwardly and feeling very uncomfortable as half a dozen of the staff in the shop starred at us and didn't offer any solutions.

Then as my mother was politely asking another table of customers if they were going to finish soon, the manager aggressively marched over and told her not to take other peoples tables which she wasn't. My mother then got very upset by her rudeness of course and challenged her, a very large argument broke out in the shop where many people were starring and observing the situation that could of been easily avoided. The customers were clearly disturbed by this situation however the manager took no action at all to de-escalate the situation. We then left despite the fact that the manager asked us to leave.

In terms of the food, it looked absolutely disgusting anyway. The pasties looked like they were covered in scabs and the staff handled them like absolute amateurs.

I would not recommend this place to my worse enemy with its hostile leadership and poor...

We stopped here as we were looking for a light lunch. We were shown to a lovely table that my friend, who has mobility issues, could access. She needs a seat with a soft back, which she had. We were served by two lovely servers, but Georgia stood out as exceptional. She was warm, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She is an asset to the restaurant. My friend absolutely loved her Traditional Steak pasty and told me it had been made to an authentic recipe, which was delicious. My vegetable soup was also delicious and very filling. We ordered coffees, which were lovely (my friend was able to request coffee with one shot, and I requested decaffeinated Americano with oat milk), and then I finished off with a lovely lemon and ginger tea. We were delighted that they also accepted my Blue Light card.

Once again, our thanks to lovely Georgia and thank you to the restaurant for a lovely meal. I just need to add that my friend had just had an upsetting experience not long before our visit, so be treated so kindly by the staff and particularly Georgia, and enjoy a delicious meal, meant so much to her. Kindness and thoughtfulness are very important to us, as it’s not always evident what people are going...

Firstly, Overcharged for my sandwich, the young man apologised when I pointed it out but didn't seek to correct his mistake, Secondly, I then had to wait 15 mins for an egg mayo sandwich while the staff all shouted at each other for making orders due for pick up in 30 mins to early, total mess, likely who ever pre ordered now has cold food. Thirdly the egg mayo had egg shells in it. Really sad to see such a staple of Tavistock fall into disrepute due to poor service and lack of care. Cant say I could recommend it any more or that I will be returning.

Edit: I appreciate the owner taking time to respond so have changed my review increase a star, I saw your large order ticket order at the deli bar however I was referring to the multiple single orders the staff were arguing over that had been prepared 30 mins to early not the singular large £214 order. Its a very generous of you to offer a free sandwich regarding my experience, I sadly cannot take you up on this offer as its not the first time its happened, I wouldn't of left you a such a poor review based off a singular incident and have personally found the quality decreasing over the last 3 years with this being the final straw, I wish you well with your business and...
