My original post said "Pleasant and busy but very little for vegans". I'm now advised by the proprietors that there are a number of vegan options, so perhaps I may have been premature - I do hope so.
On the day we called, I and my daughter were inclined towards a sweet treat and on that day we were told there was only one option. My daughter did sample the delights and tells me it was excellent (I was unable to participate as it contained almonds - and I'm allergic to them). Now, in fairness, no restaurant can cater for ever diet idiosyncrasy but could it just be bumped up to two in future?
Notwithstanding all this, I will be returning because the staff were lovely and its in a lovely location.
I live near Great Torrington and always love visiting Tavistock - the town is deliciously old-fashioned, as is this restaurant. There may be better in the town, but I really think the place has huge potential. And when a proprietor has the decency to politely point out an inaccuracy in a review then they certainly deserve a second chance!

Read moreThis is our local Coffee shop, we now default to this over any other. Highly recommended, lovely staff. Admittedly we are quite regular customers now, it has gotten to the point our order is predictable. Highly recommend the combination of Cheesy Chips and medium oat mocha (1 shot oat latte and 2 shot oat mocha pictured). Vegan options for those with dietary restrictions etc as well, and will modify the strength of coffees should you have any issues with caffeine. Parking is available either long stay for 4hrs at £2 or shorter stay for around the same at the nearby Russell Street. Hi to Natasha, Rachel and the gang, see you in the week (work...
Read moreI ate here a few weeks ago. Pot of tea was very nice and a generous size. Ordered the falafel flatbread and portion of chips. The falafel itself was tasty with the sweet chilli sauce, but the flatbread didn’t work in my opinion. Would have been better using a tortilla wrap or a pitta, and I would have added hummus and perhaps some peppers with the falafels. The chips were okay, not the best or the worst I’ve ever had. I also asked for coleslaw and then received only a small pot of mayonnaise. Quite expensive compared to other cafes and tearooms in Tavistock. Staff were friendly though and it is a popular...
